Default Tailgate rubber bumper fell off

So I lowered the tailgate a while ago and this little guy fell off...

Looks like I can just stick it back in and tighten the screw kind of like an anchor screw.

Anyone else have this happen?

Today, as a matter of fact!! Truck is 2 weeks old.

I put them back in but they don't feel secure. I'm sure dealer can fix next time I'm in.

Yes. It happened to me. Put it back in and it's never come back out.

I just spoke with a rep at 3M. He said if it is made from EPDM (which it shows on the one part earlier in this thread that it is indeed this type of rubber), I should use this -- 3M Black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive 5oz (autozone.com) to attach the rubber tailgate bumper stop to the bed.
I will use the anchor too, but will use this to assist....
No affiliation with either company, just throwing in what I am going to do when I get the two pieces tomorrow from FORD.

P.S. I initially called them to ask which tape product to use and he said tape is very difficult to make that will adhere to rubber. The only one they make is not sold to the public (see: military grade) and it requires heat and pressure in order to install properly.

UnREAL lack of quality control.
The 3m stuff I used works. Recommend giving it a shot.

There's a video on youtube where the guy drills the holes a little bigger, nutcerts the hole, and bolts the bumpers on with socket head cap screws. It'll be the route I take if mine fall off.
