Personally i really like Pioneer's stuff, i've had several head units from them and have always been impressed, likewise with their speakers and amps. My entire system is Pioneer right now, well except for the 8 inch Sub, i bought the cheap Dual band pass box but i gutted it took out the speaker and put in a Rockford fosgate then tore out the chincy internal power and slapped on a pioneer amp, it powers the rear speakers and sub, deck powers the fronts, they need more power though, i have another amp and i did install the power for it when i put this together, not sure if or when i will get around to it, sounds really nice compared to what it was when i got the truck though, just the original tape dack and ratty old speakers.

Heres what i put together, i really like the smart phone app for the head unit, tons of adjustments and it makes tuning things a lot easier. Never mind all the dog hair in the back seat....

Yep I had that Pioneer in my sights as well. Luckily with crutchfield they let you return stuff within 60 days. I am alrighty a little put off by the maximum brightness on this Kenwood unit and it hasn't even been sunny out since I have had it.

I totally understand what you mean man. That's one flaw with the Kenwood and it's their dim display.

Pppfffftttt!!! My God! How can you guys pull that cassette player out of the truck! Crap, the first thing I did was run down to the thrift shop and pick up an old "Eagles-Hotel California tape!" 😂 lol; j/k

Nowadays you would pay more money for the cassette than the CD. There has been a cassette tape revolution lately much like the way the hipsters brought back vinyl.

My first car ever was a 76 powder blue Cadillac with powder blue leather interior and an 8-track. We have come a long way LOL.

A few years back I went all Alpine, digital deck, in line amp, speakers. Sounded fantastic but need bass with the two way speakers. A Bazooka tube worked to round out the sound.

When I was 16 it didn't feel like pimp status when my buddies were all driving old mustangs and camaros. Now I would kill to get that car back LOL.

I put a new Alpine in my truck shortly after I got it. Also put new speakers in, except the passenger door. Waiting till I am ready to put the new latch cable in. I too am considering installing the dynamat in. Some of you mentioned speaker wiring. I purchased some adapters that plug into the truck's speaker wires and then to the new speakers, no soldering or anything.
