I purchased some adapters that plug into the truck's speaker wires and then to the new speakers, no soldering or anything.
I highly recommend some type of sound deadener. Theres much cheaper alternatives to Dynamat that does just as well if not better. Stinger Roadkill deadener is like 36ft^3 and around $100.00. Great deal for some really good deadener imo. Of course you don't have to buy as much. I got that much because I deadened the roof, doors, back wall, and floor.

That's the brand I went with. Got it off amazon and the price was really nice. Not bad imo. I did use ccf(closed cell foam) as well as mlv(mass loaded vinyl) so im sure that all helped out tremendously!

I am impressed.

Can you tell me how you mounted the component speakers up front - where did you put the tweeter?

Thanks man! The mids are mounting in the regular door holes. I bought some spacers I was gonna use but didn't need them because of the mounting rings that came with the speakers. The tweeters are mounted high in the sail panels. Still deciding if I'm going to move them lower once the weather warms up. There's a gap in sound because the tweeters are so high and close to my ears(well, drivers side). The crossovers are behind my seat. I ran all wires under the carpet before I put the carpet back in. Can't believe I forgot to take pics of the miss once I installed them.
The time alignment on the Alpine works wonders for the fronts stage sound. I'm able to balance the sound so that the passenger speaker sound hits me at the same time as the driver sound, resulting as if I'm sitting dead center of both speakers.
