I put a new Alpine in my truck shortly after I got it. Also put new speakers in, except the passenger door. Waiting till I am ready to put the new latch cable in. I too am considering installing the dynamat in. Some of you mentioned speaker wiring. I purchased some adapters that plug into the truck's speaker wires and then to the new speakers, no soldering or anything.

Amazon has the noico brand which is supposed to be pretty good too.

That's the brand I went with. Got it off amazon and the price was really nice. Not bad imo. I did use ccf(closed cell foam) as well as mlv(mass loaded vinyl) so im sure that all helped out tremendously!

Can you tell me how you mounted the component speakers up front - where did you put the tweeter?

The time alignment on the Alpine works wonders for the fronts stage sound. I'm able to balance the sound so that the passenger speaker sound hits me at the same time as the driver sound, resulting as if I'm sitting dead center of both speakers.
