Default How compatible is a 96 2WD & 93 4X4

so, I went to buy a new tailgate for my 93 (a used one) and I guess the guy has a 96 that won't pass emissions and his nieghborhood won't let him keep it.

He will let me tow it our for $350.

As it looked and he said; he replaced almost everything.

Will the suspension work if I have a 93 4x4, how about brakes and exhaust? His is a single cab, I have a extended.

Heck, just the new headlights and taillights cost $200

Most stuff fits but there are differences; front brakes are different, rear are the same. Front springs will work, rear springs are different.
Y-pipe is different, the rest of the exhaust will work other than the intermediate pipe.
All the body and 90% of the interior match (other than cab and box lengths).
There's a long list of differences, but a longer list of things that are the same.
Even after paying a tow truck you should be able to get double your money out of it.

Ok so far sounds good. I will see if I can use 'AAA' because it looks like it runs...

Yup, he has new alternator, water pump, rebuilt tranny (he says, with 3,000 miles) new heads from local shop, new brakes, 3" leveling front springs, and 4 shocks to match, a new magnaflow cat, and muffler, MSD coil and wires, new radiator, and tranny cooler, new headlights all around, new steering components including gearbox, brake lines, calipers and drums, tires, new gas tank still in the plastic, diamond plate bed rail guards unused.

and once I am done, I can still get $50 for the scrap.

SO, about the exhaust system, on my parts truck is a brand new magnaflow exhaust- a single pipe to connect each manifold, two cats, and then a straight pipe to a flow master muffler.

I noticed on a 96 the oxygen sensor is located in a different spot. How can I include the new cats if at all, into my existing system?

What if I plug the 96's sensor hole and redrill one into the tiny 1" cross piece that a 93's sensor is at.

Yeah that's the basic idea of what you have to do. You can leave the old sensor in the hole between the cats if it's rusted - won't hurt anything, but you need your sensor to be before the cats.
