No contest with the input from the friends, have to agree with them. Are we such a ***** type society that we can't move a lever or get out and turn two *****? Technology is great, but come'on. Remember when men were men and the sheep ran scared?

Default f-150 Auto locking hubs

My 93 F-150 Auto locking hubs had the same problem with not disengaging fully and all the clicking and banging sounds that came with it. the hubs were binding due to no lubrication. I pulled the hubs off and use a spray lube and they worked fine after that. It's been 2 years and they engage and disengage just fine. Do not use any grease whatsoever as that will bind them up.

Yep. No grease. I soak mine in transmission oil for a couple days, and I turn and move them while they're soaking. Then I let them drip dry for a few days, wipe them off and they're ready to rock. That being said, my autos are in the garage, my truck wears Warn premium manuals.
