Default Shaking problem 87 F 150 xlt lariat

just bought an 87 f 150 pickup and when I drove it to work as soon as I hit 45mph I noticed shaking coming from the front as soon as I decelerated it stopped but when I floored it truck started shaking could it be bad shocks? motor mounts? please help!!

Sounds like the death wobble. Check all your steering components. Shake the bar for a quick check of the tie rods. Also look at the spindle mounts for wear and tear.

Could also be a tire balance issue if it lost weights.

Also double check to make sure the lug nuts are tight

If the shaking is coming thru the steering wheel it is probably in the front end. Thru the floor would be rear end. Usually.

If its a new to you truck, would be good to go thru it and check everything - shocks, springs and mounts, bushings, wheel bearings, ball joints, u-joints, driveshaft play, motor mounts - it really could be a lot of things.

A option could be driveshaft u joints. They get off center and unbalanced. When no power, they seem to change how they shake.
