it has 68,000 original miles on it never had a thing replaced other than maybe a belt.
I would recommend starting a thread in the main area - make sure to give us all the info on it - engine, transmission, drivetrain (looks like a 2WD), etc.
As far as paint goes - I am also a red truck owner. Get yourself a dual-action polisher (harbor freight is good enough), some cutting pads, and a bottle of Meguiars Ultimate compound. Follow that up with the ultimate polish, and then a wax of your choice. You will be amazed as to what it can do.
Wow, these trucks look awesome! I am considering doing something like this to my truck, and I was hoping that it wouldn't be to much trouble to ask for some advice. Next summer I'm getting into a serious rebuild of my '95 f250HD, and I was torn between a 3in body lift, a 2in rear lowering shackle, or a Belltech 2/4 lowering kit. It's 2wd, so I'm not sure how a lift would help (beyond aesthetics), but I don't want to lose any ability to haul firewood out of the treeline either. I of course think at the moment the lower the better, but what's everybody's suggestion on the matter? If it makes a difference, I've got 32's on it right now from the previous owner. (fixing all the rust and the dents first of course)
If the F250 is your daily or even your work truck. LEAVE IT ALONE! Fix what is broke.
If your having clearance issues when hauling firewood then yes! Upgrade the suspension to handle the weight.
My truck was bought new by my parents in 92' it now has around 310k miles on it. The 302 was swapped out about 30k miles ago with a 351W. It is lowered 5" front and rear with Belltech drop I-beams and Crown suspension lowering springs with a DJM Flip kit in the rear. It was my first vehicle when I turned 16. Im 35 now and still own it to this day. It is a gas hog compared to the 5.0L coyote I drive as my daily. 10-13 mpg compared to 17-23 mpg. I told my self when I bought my car that I would still drive the truck as my daily but that did not work out as planned.
Best upgrade I done to the truck would be to put a Detroit True Trak in the rear end. Although, the car still has better traction in the snow here in Missouri. Second best upgrade would be Long Tube headers. But my 351W still has the factory E7 heads and intake manifold. After about 3.5k RPM the motor starts to gasp for air. IF you want more power swap the heads and intake manifold. That's if you have a 351W in your F-250. If you have a 5.0L then leave the intake manifold and just swap the heads. I been thinking about spending some money on the old truck but its addicting buying parts for the car.
Actually best upgrade I done to the truck would probably be putting a secondary transmission oil cooler in front of the radiator to keep the temperatures down on the E4OD. I put the biggest cooler I could get and ran AN stainless lines with a remote mount oil filter. Hottest the trucks transm fluid gets now is about 160 degrees in the dead heat of summer. That's with a Derale transmission pan with the sensor going in the test port.
I sometimes think about actually raising the truck back to factory height and doing a 4x4 swap. I think lowering the truck would be the worst thing I'v done but then I was only about 18 at the time. 2nd worst thing would be to weld a roll pan on the back. I miss my bumper and hitch! Third worst thing would be to put a Derale pan on the transmission. It just sits to low to the ground.
