Default 1993 f 150 302 engine swap going in a 1990 f 150 Help!!

I want to buy a new ATK stock remanufactured 302 engine and transmission from jegs and install to my 1990 f150, my question is if i go with the original motor that is flat tappet camshafts or a newer one like 1993 302 f150 motor that has a roller camshafts, but with the 93 302 engine im afraid it will mess with original speed density and MAP sensor that needs to see a certain amount of vacuum in order for your engine to run properly? Will it be fine with newer motor?

I know this is from July, but I didn’t see anyone had replied to you. The only issue would be weather you have the HO fireing order or the std firming order. The HO fireing order is the same as the 5.8. This is what the newer engines run. I am sure the 92 and later 5.0 ran it. Speed density is a very limited unit. You can’t go crazy with the cam or intake without problems. You can go to a roller cam, which is 94 and up stock. You will gain torque and horsepower from that switch. The longevity is also increased. Don’t get talked into a computer swap unless you are just up for a bit of work. The Mass Air swap is nice, but it is not a direct swap. One thing leads to another cost wise and in the end, you would have been better off just dropping in a 94 roller with a stock grind on the cam and getting back on the road.
Trust me I completely know what I am talking about. I just finished the Mass Air Swap in my Bronco.
93 Bronco XLT with a 7.0w and an E4OD.
