I did pull the information from forscan. Here’s the infor for the CCM.

Is there anyway I can get a list of updated firmware/strategies for all the modules in the truck?
OT. But can someone explain the difference between the strategy and the calibration? I know the strategy is essentially the binary file name of the firmware. What of the calibration? Is it some sort of sub version?

While not always the case... The Strategy is the actual "Application/Software" EXE file of the firmware for that module... Runs the show, makes the module work. Sometimes vehicle specific. Think of it as the module operating system like Windows or MacOS.... A Strategy can be vehicle specific or it can be universal among multiple Ford/Lincoln vehicles of that model year.

The Calibration is tailored to that particular setup like what kind of vehicle - F150, Fusion, etc... situational stuff like this vehicle has this feature but doesn't have this one. Basically it is a settings file for the Strategy file.

Makes perfect sense. Thanks sir! One last question. Assume the the strategy is definitely written in machine code. What about the calibration? With PCM tuners, I’m guessing they are able to decompile the calibration files to some extent. It would be interesting to extend this to other modules once we have the ability to write firmware via FORscan. Certainly not for the faint of heart. One example that comes to mind is proximity detection which we can’t enable on our F-150s. Seems like a mashup calibration for the BCM could get that done.

I have ACC and just replaced my 2017 Lariat ACC wheel with the 2018 Limited ACC wheel, and got DTCs from the SCCM, PCM, and CCM until I changed a value in my SCCM (12) to match what the 2018 Limited's have (19). After I changed that I was good to go. If the SCCM can't talk to the wheel, I think it throws codes up the chain. You could try the 19 value and see if that works. I know my 2017 SCCM accepted the 19, but that value couldn't be written to a 2015 SCCM, so that fella had to do a button swap. At least give it a try, so when people with a 2016 do a wheel upgrade we can let them know ahead of time if they will need to swap the buttons.
I had my wheel replaced and it was replaced with the new JL3Z part number. Now the ACC switch isn't recognized. I tried entering value 19 as suggested, however FORScan won't allow it and displays a "writing blocks failed - incompatible configuration" error. Any other suggestions besides a button swap?

I find it odd that it wrote fine for you but it won't take it for me.

His SCCM firmware must be newer than your 2016's and that's why it took the value on his but gave you incompatible config.

Exactly. The '19' value only works with 2017+ SCCM firmware. 2015/2016 you unfortunately need to do the button swap.

Damn, was really hopeful there would've be some way around that. Guess I could've tried to reflash the SCCM with newer firmware, but that could lead to other issues if the SCCM module has changed internally...easier just to do the swap. Thanks again.

I don't know if anyone has already done this or not, but I traced the wiring in case anyone without the HUD plug in their current harness wants to make their own to complete this mod.

5 should be BCM instead of BMC...I blame my chubby fingers for not listening to my brain..

Update: I was finally able to order the '18 CCM today (had been backordered) so hopefully I'll get that soon and will be able to play around with it.

I called AutoNation White Bear Lake parts dept today to order that CCM and while I was on the phone with him I asked about the price hike on Fordparts.com when using them as a dealer. He told me they did that because of the massive amount of credit card fraud that was charged back to them (and that Ford wouldn't reimburse them for). He said they had no control of checking IP addresses/shipping addresses/billing addresses through fordparts.com that they want to verify the order is legit. He told me that ordering from AutoNation via their website/phone would get people the lowest prices that they're used to from AutoNation but also offered to sponsor me because I've bought a lot from them. Apparently this sponsorship will allow me to order from them via fordparts.com and be able to see the normal low prices I'm used to seeing from them there. They send me this sponsorship email that took me to fordparts.com's website but I was unable to continue because Ford is re-doing that website so the message told me to come back to that link again on 1/19 and that sponsorship invitation would then work. Anyways, glad I called them and I'm back to being a AutoNation White Bear Lake customer again!

BTW: AutoNation ended up being $35 cheaper than Sunrise Ford on that '18 CCM
