The adaptive cruise control parts are totally different from the parking assist option. Park assist will require you to drill two holes in the front fender behind each front wheel.
You'd need an 8" cluster. If you want to get one I know a guy
Livnitup,
What are 8" clusters going for these days? I've got a '16 5.0L with the 4" cluster. How does one get the vehicle's current mileage/engine hours into a new/refurbed IPC?
thanks for the quick response. I am assuming the sensor I would need is the small little round ones in the bumper like int the rear bumper?
I attempted this a while ago (and re-visited it multiple times) and couldn't get any audible alerts working for a front parking aid working so I scrapped the experiment. I wired up 4 new sensors, had to run 6 new wires to BCM, had to flash the PAM module to that of a 2017/2018 Explorer to get the Sync 3 Overlay working showing the distance sensors working at low speed with the truck image on the screen. Then there are changes to PAM & APIM as-built values. Our IPC isn't designed for it and I believe this is the reason the truck will not forward the chime requests to the speakers so I scrapped this experiment.
I became a member of the Adaptive Cruise Control club today! Finished up the hardware install and did the FORScan changes, went for a ride to calibrate the CCM and whohoo! All seems to be working. I really appreciate all the information in this forum/thread. There is no way I would have figured all this out on my own. Thanks to all who have contributed.
Adaptive Cruise Control added!
Now to start saving for the next upgrade/modification....
Well I made some progress today on the ACC w/stop & go (rained yesterday so only got to work on it today). I loosely tested out my wiring harnesses and I'm able to see & program the '18 IPMA & C-CM modules in FORScan but I'm getting the front camera malfunction so I need to calibrate it. I had the '18 rear view mirror sitting on my dash and the IPMA bracket taped to the windshield and had two wires strung out my driver's side door to the C-CM (that was laying on my driveway) for this testing so obviously I need to get this buttoned up before road testing and camera calibration. I didn't realize until today that I'm probably going to have to remove the bumper to remove the old CCM bracket to put the new one on so I can bolt up the new CCM so that's next for me sometime this week or next weekend. Will update next after that...

If you don't want to remove the bumper, you can get to it from above by removing the grille. That's how I installed the C-CM bracket on my truck.

I had to pull the bumper to get the wiring harness out and install the new one. I did not have to remove the bumper to install the CCM bracket. Just remove the plastic cover drivers side and you can get right in there. Unless you're saying there is something needed so you can bolt the CCM bracket to it.
I'll try exploring the grill option...I'm specifically talking about the top 2 bolts of the CCM bracket. I can get a wrench on them and loosen them but I feel like I'm gonna drop the bolt if I remove it completely and even if I don't I'll never be able to start the bolts in the new bracket holes; space is just too tight.

All I did was remove the grill to mount the bracket, it seemed easier than the bumper and I've got pretty big hands but could still get to everything through the top.
