Subscribed. The challenge for most folks will be the IDS part. Many dealers want nothing to do with the games played by those wacky Internet people.

This looks totally doable until you require a dealer.

I disconnected the battery for 30 mins, although the Serv manual doesn't say you have to. I was also able to change the switches without disconnecting the airbag. I just removed from the wheel mounts and worked around it.

If I remember, the Serv manual says to turn the truck off, then you can disconnect the airbag after a minute. I usually advocate following the Serv manual even if it doesn't sound right, but in this case I felt more comfortable removing the neg bat cable and waiting to make sure and capacitors had drained.

I did all the asbuilt programming in Forscan, but the horizontal calibration is a servicing test and forscan doesnt have that capability. You need IDS to do that.

Did you use a 3mm hex key to release the airbag?

Can't remember the size. I just grabbed one of my long ball end hex sockets than fit and disconnected the retainers.

Outfreakingstanding! Congrats Great white!!

I am still waiting for parts. My ford supplier is not making me happy at the moment. I did get my new wheel though early which is nice.

I think it's time to drill some holes for the APA....... while I wait for parts.

ok guys just curious about the speed distance sensor.

There are three listed:

Build date on my truck is 5/15. Can't determine based off the descriptions which sensor I should get. Maybe the D is just the most updated version of the sensor.

So I've had a chance to put some highway miles and local road driving on the adaptive cruise.

I was a touch apprehensive that I would like it, but now: love it.



I still have to monitor it (like any automated system), but it relieves so much hassle and so much stress that if I have a choice, I'll never have another vehicle without it.

Well worth the effort and cost to add. It was approx 750 CAD and that's counting the forscan adapter.

I did buy IDS (nowhere near full retail), but I've got a lot of other stuff I'm going to need it for anyways.
