Default 2.7 101A successfully added adaptive cruise #3

Just want to make a correction to my previous post. The manual I followed was for the 302a install.

Note: CCM Module used was from Rockauto made by SMP.
($404cdn) Didn't realize it wasn't oem until recently. It appears to be functioning normally.

Hello, I know this is an old thread but are you able to completely add the ACC on a 2017 Lariat with a 502a package by just using Forescan? Could someone point me in the right direction, I want to make sure before I buy all the parts.

thank you.

Also, I found a ACC radar sensor thru RockAuto parts.com, is this okay to use even tho it’s not oem, it does say it’s direct fit?

Do you have a link to the 302A manual install? Digging through this thread with no success.

Alright folks, I have tried many times now to calibrate the CCM with Forscan. I hope I am just missing something. Everything show up on the IPC but the warning "Front Sensor Not Aligned" is there and never goes away. I am pretty sure I follow the Forscan instructions properly. The one thing I don't know is how straight of a road do I need? There are not many straight roads around here that I can be straight for more then a couple minutes even the highways twist and turn. I have tried a couple times over the last 2 days for a couple hours each try and nothing. Is there a progress bar I should be looking for in Forscan or is there a certain mode I need to be in, nothing ever really tells me I am in calibration mode. Thanks!

I followed the instructions from the 301a build that is posted in this thread. Only had to add the power supply wire (#10) for the bumper harness. All other needed wires were populated.

The harness for the 3.5 in the parts build list worked for my 2.7 with stock fog lamps. Literally plugged in perfectly with the addition of the harness for the radar unit.

Following the advise of others I went the grill removal route which was for me the easiest way to go. Once pulling the rubber cover from the rear of the bumper the entire harness was accessible from the top.
Still have the HUD connections to finish off in the passenger footwear but system is working fine without it.

Thank you to all the contributors to this thread. Would not have tackled this project without the posting of such detailed technical writing to make this project a fun straightforward install.
Just wanted to say thank you. I've read through almost half of this thread looking for someone with a 101 ad decided to try working backwards and found your post, so, thanks!

First, go into Forscan and verify you do not have any DTCs set except for the ones related to the CCM. If I remember correctly there will only be one or two. Clear all of the DTCs and verify only the CCM related DTCs remain. Re-start the truck, make sure you have selected adaptive cruise in the IPC, begin the calibration procedure with Forscan and start driving. You need to come up on cars in front of you so the unit can detect them. Don't worry about the road being curvy - just drive normally. For my old F-150 it took about 5 minutes and then the dash message just went away. After that happened the adaptive cruise worked. There is no progress bar in Forscan while this is happening.

I did have 1 ABS DTC when I went back in and fixed that. The C-CM is just the calibration DTC and only DTC left and I did select Adaptive Cruise on the IPC. Do I need to turn on the Adaptive cruise before beginning the Calibration? Do I need to start calibration right before I get on a highway or can I start it in my driveway and drive the 3 minutes to the nearest highway? I did retry this morning again without the ABS DTC present but all the cars were doing like 80 and pulling away from me before I could potentially clear the message. I am hoping there is nothing wrong with the C-CM that is causing the calibration to not work. Thanks for responding I am getting frustrated by this for some reason what seems easy is just being a pain for me haha.

Well I'm calling it. I've now wasted countless hours trying to align this thing and it will not work ACC is being pulled out.

Edit: I decided calm down a little and recheck my install. I checked the vertical alignment again and it looks like it might have been slightly off. It is now adjusted and check 8 times this time haha. Hopefully that was my problem preventing me from completing the horizontal alignment calibration procedure.

Default Calibration

As others have stated clear all dtc's. Make sure acc is in adaptive mode on the IPC. Start acc module calibration in forscan. There will be an info box that pops up in forscan. I think you click yes/ok. Leaving forscan on begin driving. Mine calibrated in about 3kms in light traffic. It did not actually turn on afterwards but the calibration window on the IPC went away. I had not put the correct hexadecimal vin in the acc module so acc wouldn't activate but it was present. Once I inputted the correct vin into the acc module the system worked. No need to recalibrate. If I remember correctly I had to close an info window on forscan at the end of the acc programming. Not sure if that last part is critical. But the first request when starting the acc calibration is.

Hope this helps. You are so close.
