Default Adding perpendicular park to Active Park Assist

Found this today for anyone that has Active Park Assist: This adds ability for Perpendicular Park on top of Parallel Park.
It took me 3 parking lots and tons of passed spots before it found a situation it liked and successfully backed into a parking spot using Perpendicular Mode.

** Use at your own risk and test it first **

Enable the following in FORScan:

PAM Module:
736-04-01 x2xx xxxx - Perpendicular Park enabled (ignore whatever you have where the x's are and just put the "2" in the appropriate spot and write the change. Ignore the message about incorrect checksum and continue).

I noticed this as a feature on some other Ford vehicles.

So the question - does it work???

I've yet to use the parallel park - tried it for grins one day when driving by a bunch of open parallel spots and it just kept cruising until it found one between two vehicles ???

That's pretty cool! I had my 2015 Platinum for 18 months and the Park Assist only found 2 spaces that it decided the truck would fit in! To its credit, it parked it flawlessly both times! As we know, a SCrew with 6.5' bed takes a lot of real estate to park... Thanks for all the hard work Livinitup!

I have a 6.5 screw and will try this out tomorrow later in a day. Ive used the parallel park a few times and it always found a spot rather quick. some that were tight as well. I will report my findings as soon as able. Livnitup youre awesome! the double honk erase for my sanity and this, if it works well, for my wifes parking anxiety

Do you have any idea why it passed up so many available spots?

I don't think it liked the compact spots and/or the overall width of the parking lot aisle planning for its 3-4 point turn backing in. I'm gonna try again at Lowe's or Sam's Club this weekend.

Edit: ** testing different values now... **

Edit2: Disregard this, post #1 has been put back to original for now.

Just got back from testing the abilities. I can clearly say that the perpendicular park assist has no trouble finding a spot for me. The performance on the other hand was a total disaster and even after making multi-point attempts in different spots, it always failed to even fit in the spot, that would be one shot in manually.
I have a 157" wheelbase, which might perhaps need a different value?

Which I think is the reason they didn't put it in the trucks.. It's a lot harder to park a truck than a Focus.. But we need to play some more to see if there are changes to be made that alow for the size..
