Thanks, this site is great.
No, you just reach over the side of the bed and press. It'll take you a few times to get used to where it is positioned, but nothing to worry about. If you're not tall it might be a little difficult, tho. The top of the bed where you reach over is about 55" tall, which feels taller than it sounds even for my 6'1 self.

When the extender is stowed it's a little more tedious to access the button. You gotta fish you arm down behind the folded extender. Not hard, just not as quick/easy.

Happy I found this old thread. I have been researching bed extenders and didn't realize the new one for 2015/16 flipped back as a bed divider. Thought it was either an extender or stowed to the sides.

The only downfall I can see is that it isn't easily removable like the Amp one.

Any updates on the durability, etc of the OEM divider would be awesome! Thanks!

^ thanks for finding! I didn't know it until now but I have the same exact questions and had no clue it would work as divider.

Seems like an upcoming purchase

Bed extenders work great! They keep my double stroller / groceries / jerry cans / pressure washers from rolling forward to the front end of the bed. OP is right about 15-16s extenders, as I have bought an 09-14 version for really cheap. They are identical, but the 09-14 lock post doesn't align with the hole on the tailgate and they extend a bit more than what OP posted. But it's all good, you have two locking pins on each side of the extender, so those alone can keep them 'extended' on the tailgate.
