I've been thinking about getting this, cutting the LH "leg" off where the dashed line is and moving the entire thing to the left to get it closer to the driver. Screws or pop rivets on the hidden side should hold it pretty firmly. I like the magnetic holding type, so I've though about removing the claw holder and putting a magnetic holder in it's place.
I use a panavise mount, it's great! It mounts behind the plate next to the radio. it's solid as a rock, the best part is when using waze thru apple carplay the direction are on the phone and the maps are on the 8" screen. The mount comes off, so it's interchangeable with other mounts!
Not sure it's the best mount out there, but certainly worth the price. This is the iOttie Touch 2, but they have a newer version (Touch 4). The Touch 2 runs $15-$20 at Amazon/eBay. It's a sturdy setup with very little wobble. Also easy to reach while resting your elbow on the console.
I like this mounting position. I found this holder from proclips that holds the charging cable in place. That way when I drop it in I automatically sync in CarPlay. All they’re suction mounts are kind of funky and pricey though. Anything similar out there?
Hey guys. 2017 F-150 here and wondering what the best cell phone holder is out there. I'd like something that mounts up higher so I can touch the phone and it won't move all over. Let me know price and where I can get it if you could please. Also the good and not so good about your particular cell phone holder. Pictures encouraged!
that is where I put my phone. No need to look at it when connected using android auto
There’s a few reasons that doesn’t work for me; I have the console shifter, so there’s one less, large storage area available. I don’t want my phone laying in the dash cubby because of the heat in the summer months, and the narrow area on the console between the cup h9lders and the shifter, is where I keep my ink pens. With that area, I don’t like the phone being that close to drinks. And lastly, I’m happy with Ford’s Nav system, so I’m not always connected to CarPlay, and I just want to see my phone display.
