I was thinking the same thing. Might use a hand file, I'd be worried about the dremmel cutting too much or jacking up the finish.

I'm not sure these fit on the Lariat, you may need to ask the seller but I think the lariat ***** with the metal rings are thicker than the XLT's rubber rings.

Yep, and if you screw it up you can get a whole new set for around $20. I was thinking of using a Dremmel to carve out a slot, but I was concerned the edges would end up rough looking. Maybe a tiny hole would work.

Exactly what my reasoning was.

I was thinking how I would get the little grinding wheel in there!

Drilling a tiny hole might be a viable option. I'm thinking I might just hand file it. Yeah it will take more time, but the results probably will look better. Knowing my luck I'll fire up the dremmel and when I go to initiate contact it will skip and mess up the ****.

I took a silver sharpie and put a single dot on the ring for the temp dial. Works exactly as needed.
I don't have any LED rings on my 2016 though.

Not sure what the Lariat ***** look like but these are open in the middle. I got the black and the silver accent rings looks good.

Never mind responded before reading the following posts. I like the gloss finish on those Lariat ***** might look at options for that look.

Just a tip for those **** colors. If you want silver and can't find them, order a set in any color. Get a bottle of Greased Lightning and soak the rings in it. Depending on the thickness of the finish it might take a couple of individual soakings overnight. Will take the finish right off to the bare aluminum.

enjoy
