Aftermarket kit or the OEM kit? I used the OEM parts and no thread locker. But it had to have taken 500 turns to get those bolts in there, so I don't think they're coming out anytime.

Thanks for motivating me to do the same. Before I purchased my truck I said I would take the sticker off regardless of what model I get and every day this summer I talked myself out of it. For those on the fence a hairdryer, a fingernail and 2 minutes is all it takes.

Did you use anything to clean the residue from the decals? I noticed when I washed my truck, the water/soap was different where the decals used to be.

I have the FX4 decal, but I actually preferred the STX 4x4 decal that the non-FX4 truck I test drove had. I guess I'm a decal lover, haha. I usually add (tastefully) rather than remove. Notice the added decal on my '01 GT?

Goo Gone, rubbing alcohol, wd40, aerosol hair spray will usually remove tag/decal/3M tape residue, but you will have to wax afterwards........

I used rubbing alcohol with a micro fiber towel on mine. Then washed and waxed.

I didn't use anything but a wet washcloth as there was barely any residue left. I then washed/waxed the truck.

The next day I could still see the outline of the old sticker from the morning dew but am sure that will fade in time.

I sprayed residue down with soapy water and then clay bar it and waxed and it was not even noticeable after 5 mins...looked pretty strange with these super shiny spots and the rest of the truck dirty so I ended up cleaning the whole thing lol
