Hey gang, just finished installing the rear Bilstein B8 5100s on my 4x4 FX4 truck (p/n 33-253190). Just as an FYI for those '****' like me, I was a bit disappointed to find out with the last of the 4 bolts that the Bilstein shock bases are NARROWER than the stock shocks by about a thick washer. Wish I knew before, to install one, and not deform the mounts, like it happened. Don't think it's a big deal (unless you want to go back to stock), but just wanted to point it out, so others might prevent that from happening. You can clearly see the metal bent inward, especially on the left rear wheel at the bottom, which is when I noticed it first. I measured the stock shock base and the Bilstein, and yeah, the stock ones are about 2mm wider. Finally, decided to put the 66 ft/lbs reportedly Ford calls out for, but Bilstein calls for 54 ft/lbs. Hope this helps gang.

Anyone fitting 35/12.5 on stock rims, 2.1” setting, without messing with the crash bars?

285/65/20 with 2 in setting will still rub a little on driveway entrances when wheel is turned left or right ? Or like say hitting a ditch little hard when wheel is turned. I feel like I’m rubbing.

I appreciate the input, do you think it’s rubbing on the fender or crash bar?

Default Before and After leveled with Bilsteins in Front

Before and After picks with leveled Front, fuel wheels, 33" Nitto grapplers G2, RC LED bumpers & Tyger step rails. It IS possible to increase a trucks testosterone without getting a lift and 35's. My ride and mpg is the same as the factory set up.

I show a little plastic fender and a little crash bar. Slight amount. Plus I also think my 157 sits a little lower then the 145

I've been trying to decide how to set my 5100s, browsing this thread became confusing, I started a simple spreadsheet and inputted all the measurements people posted (thanks for posting!). In case anyone else is interested you can find the spreadsheet here. Hopefully it helps to get an idea of how much lift to expect with different settings, I tried to capture body style, motor and before and after measurements but that info wasn't always available, feel free to contribute new measurements to the sheet.

I have a 2017 with the 5.0. I installed the 5100s at the highest setting and saw right at 2" of lift at the front fenders. Still plenty of room for these 285/75R17s without any trimming. Even in reverse at full lock there's no rubbing.

I am installing 5100 on all four corners. Im thinking about going at the 1.76 setting in the front. Will I be able to fit 295/65R20 without any rubbing?
