I haven't measured the 6.5 or 8 foot bed yet. My brother works for a local ford dealer so I planned on measuring those beds once I got someone to order that had one that size.
I had skewers in my rack that I left there and the problem
I ran into was rust. Between car washes and rain the extra skewers I bought were rusted in no time. So now I either use the skewer on the bike or for my fatbike I have an extra skewer but I put it in my seatback pocket instead of leaving it out to rust.
I think the built in skewers on the ones I have here are zinc coated. Your skewers rusted? I thought most of them were stainless/aluminum. You could always use ti skewers
I'll measure my boxlink mounts on my 6 1/2' bed today.
Great idea! I'm in, except I have a full size truck box that hides the boxlink brackets closest to the cab. Any way you can customize using a single box link to mount a single bike?
Got my set of bike racks and they look great. Not sure why they were scratched in a couple places (Not concerned with the scratches) just weird how well you had them wrapped. Want you to see this so you consider a donut approach when shipping two sets together.
Im not sure how the bikes lock to them, I suppose I either need to read the previous threads or I have to buy something to get the bikes to lock (Not security lock) but how does the rack hold the forks etc.

Sorry to hear you had a few scratches I thought I bundled them up well enough to prevent that. I can have two more bars powder coated and ship them to you and you can switch the hardware over if you'd like?
You use the quick release skewers from your bike's front wheel to secure it to the fork mount. You can buy the skewers and leave them in the fork mount, but in my experience they don't weather very well to leave them outdoors.

Yep, we noticed how they were wrapped as well, they must go through a great deal to get to each other through the wrapping but it happened. I'd ship them seperately or use a donut No I dont mind the scratches, Ill use black marker or something whatever. Not a thing just mentioning.
Can ya point me to a part that I can add to this, Am trying to make it have a perm mount. When you say skewers, do I have to get a particular set and also these will travel under a retrax most of the time.
I notice there is nothing securing the rear wheels. In my experience, with bumps and breaking/accelerations, the bikes my jump around a bit and slide and knock into each other. Have you done extensive enough testing to ensure this is not the case? Otherwise, a strap could be affixed from the rear wheel of each bike to the opposite bar, I believe this would sort that out enough.
Do you have a close up of the mount with a bike loaded? I'm assuming the fork straddles the outside of the mount as if the mount were the wheel and your skewer feeds through the mount tube and clamps the bike down. Correct?
