This setup is definitely louder than stock and I would argue would suit your needs just fine. The Borla muffler is roughly 1/3 the size of the stock unit. The Borla muffler also opened up a lot more deep tones, even some nice "braaaap" when the 10R80 downshifts in sport mode. I wish I had a dB meter but i would say it is 25% louder at idle, 65% louder on throttle, 100% louder at WOT. I do not have any drone but its louder at 80mph to me than stock muffler. When I am WOT it sounds (kisses fingers in italian)

Here is a half throttle flyby with corsa extreme on my 5.0. I have zero drone and it’s only load after half throttle if your are driving normal it sounds just good.

Corsa is our go-to purely because it has less drone than Borla. But whichever unit sounds better to you is the route you should go. We carry both, be glad to help get you setup!

I'll give my first impressions of the Corsa Sport cat back. It's lives up to the hype about no drone. There is literally no drone to speak of which is very impressive. The fit and finish was extremely good, installation was pretty straight forward. Cold start, not as loud as I was expecting. It's actually not overly aggressive in anyway, strong and healthy might be a better way to describe it but I was expecting much louder based on all the Youtube videos I watched. When you take off from a dead stop you can hear it but its just the sounds you want to hear and no drone sounds, just smooth V8 sounds. At WOT it's loud but again, just the sound you want to hear. It's literally the best of everything you want in an exhaust. I might end up doing the resonator delete to get more volume but I'm gonna drive around for a month or two before I invest in a Corsa mid-pipe. I guess the only downside I could say is the price. If you are shopping by price then you might look past it but since it checks all the right boxes I think it's worth the price of admission.

I installed the Corsa Sport cat-back and Corsa resonator delete pipe on my 2018 5.0 a couple months ago and drove it like that for a week, before putting the stock resonator back on. Cold starts were absolutely brutal and obnoxious with the resonator delete pipe installed, but it quickly quieted down after a few seconds and sounded evil as hell when you laid into the throttle. I think the Xtreme on the F-150 sounded better than the Mustangs and was very satisfying when you blew somebody's doors off. It also sounded crisp and detailed, like you could hear the individual cylinders firing and the valves working.

Putting the stock resonator back on (turning it into the Sport version versus the Xtreme version) mellowed it out quite a bit and muddied up the sound just a little, but makes cold starts much more friendly and nearly stock quiet at cruise. Cold starts as the Sport version sound muscular but don't blow your wig off like it did as the Xtreme version (and a warm start with the Xtreme version sounded about like a cold start with the Sport version). Laying into the throttle sounds good but it doesn't wail and wake up the dead like the Xtreme version. With the resonator delete pipe installed (Xtreme version), I was also getting a little bit of drone at highway cruise, but it sounded more like a tire with a lump on it or a wheel bearing going bad, which was a little annoying. It wasn't a booming drone.

I wish it had just a little more bass or deep tone either with or without the resonator delete pipe, especially at idle, but I guess that would cause the dreaded drone. I do notice the sound has changed a little after a several hundred miles. It's not as pingy as it was when new and has gotten a little deeper. I may end up putting the resonator delete pipe back on and see how it sounds now that the exhaust has been seasoned with soot.

^ My feedback / opinions mirror the post above.

I’ve had Corsa exhaust on prolly 4-5 vehicles now (previous mustangs).

Have Corsa sport on my F150 with 5.0. Love it, but wanted something just a little bit louder/more noticeable.

Tried the Corsa resonator delete, and it was not to my liking *for my truck*. If I still had my mustang, then I’d say it would have been awesome and “appropriate”.

However, in my opinion, the resonator delete took the truck from luxurious (I have a lariat), to almost being kind of obnoxious, especially at startup as mentioned above.....again, if it were a mustang/sports car/etc, it’d sound very appropriate.

To clarify, still had zero drone, however it was definitely noticeable even when highway cruising. I’d say it bumped the volume level up a couple of points.

the biggest kicker for me, however, was that the sound just seemed to *always* be there.

Compared to the sport, that you can kind of control the volume level depending on how you put your foot into it, the extreme (resonator delete) made it so that it was always apparent, and it got annoying cause I couldn’t really quiet it down to a satisfactory level when trying to just go through the neighborhood, not be noticed, etc.

Of course, like all message forums, take all that with a grain of salt, however just know that I’ve had personal experience (myself or family members) with Corsa exhausts on the following:
2005 mustang GT 4.6L
2013 mustang GT 5.0L
2007 F250 6.0L diesel
2014 tundra 5.7L
2015 F150 5.0

I recommend Corsa exhaust every day, and twice on Sunday, but would caution buying the resonator without a return policy if you’re looking to keep your truck more on the luxurious side vs sounding like a mustang.

I have a startup video comparing with and without resonator, but it’s on my phone and not sure if it will let me upload within app. May try tonight from home computer.

You make a good point about the sound level differences. I'm torn but I don't want to throw down 200 bones on a mid pipe delete and hate it so that's why I figured I'd give it some time. I'll admit that I do like to hear the exhaust more so than maybe others do with the exception of highway driving. Coming from a Flowmaster kit, the Corsa seems much more refined, stock like smoothness but with a great sound and no harshness.

Guys - sincere thank you for all of this comprehensive feedback. Exactly want I was looking for. As anyone who has messed around with exhaust changes (I've probably done 10 different cars / trucks over the years with an average of probably 1.5 exhaust swaps per vehicle) you really value first hand and descriptive feedback like the above... So thank you. Definitely getting Corsa Sport.
