Ford parts are not always the best when on national backorder. Personally, I've never bought an extended warranty, never needed one either. I guess if my transmission craps, I'm still way ahead over the years.

I bought a Ford ESP for the Bronco Sport because it is such a new platform. But I didn't get if from the dealer, I went to one of the lower priced ford sources. Not zeigler, I can't remember which one I used.

And I have my powertraincare w/roadside for buying my F150 certified used.

Is it worth it? No. Does it buy you "peace-of-mind?" That is really the only reason to buy one.

View it from Ford's side. The bean counters look at all the repair histories of each model for each year. They decide for example all F150s sold would cost on average $500 for what they would cover under the life of the extended warranty. But they are in business to make a profit, so they price it at $1500 to the dealer. He in turn also wants to make a profit so offers it to you at $3000. Just like gambling the house always wins in the end.

do you sell the warranties?? Ford dealerships are INDEPENDENTLY owned... so if you bring in your ailing truck you purchased elsewhere with a warranty issue and coverage purchased elsewhere... be prepared to be treated like a 2nd or 3rd class customer.
The warranty is not an "entitlement" to any sort of better treatment... its a prepayment of something that "may" fail. Make sure you save money by choosing a higher deductible...lol.

No I do not, happily retired from a non automotive profession. Have had a Ford ESP on every single new and used Ford product we have purchased. Your scare tactics, like the once in a lifetime global shortage, is ridiculous. Oh and I have never, ever had any issue in taking my Ford vehicle to ANY Ford dealer and getting warranty work done.

BTW, who said anything about special service, its the great standard Ford service you get with an ESP.

As far as your earlier post about being "way ahead"' not possible. Your one time purchase of a 2K warranty guarantees you that any necessary warranty repair will be done. Your "sitting" on the money, will not! It cant and wont, investing is not that good! Sorry, you dont like them and we know that and never challenge your position, treat us the same way!

An extended warranty is worth it to me. $2k for 3 more years on a truck with a trans that is known to fail and costs $7-10k to replace is worth it to me. I agree that it’s just like insurance. You may never use it…but if needed, it’s there.

One of my biggest concerns is that 10 speed tranny and what it costs should it go bad!!!!! We’ve all read the horror stories on here what it costs to rebuild or have to buy a new run. My ESP cost me under 2 grand this past April for another 3 years and well worth it should a major item need replacement. So it’s costing me about 600 bucks a year for my ESP because I shopped around and found it much cheaper than my dealer. Unfortunately I’m not the type to put possible repair money into a saving account in case my truck breaks. So I’m paying about 600 bucks a year for the peace of mind I’m not going to get drilled with a major repair over the next 3 years. I understand that many would rather roll the dice and hope for the best avoiding major repairs. I just do not want to take that chance......
