F150 marvels of engineering that make you shake your head
I find that, when compared to the last Ford truck I had (1996 F150) the engineering has really come a long way.
What's some of the things that make you wonder why they "designed" it the way they did. From the difficult to the easy, not the fact that you can only get certain things in certain trims.. or that you can't get past a XLT in an RCSB,etc.. but stuff that, if slightly different it would just make sense..
for instance. -- something simple:
If the best way to change the bulbs in your headlights or fob lights is through the wheel well, why the heck is there not a flap that you can just remove for easy access. Seems that instead of having to remove a few screws and "push part of the liner to the side, a simple flap, with push pins would be a world of good to be able to just reach in and change the bulbs when needed. I've had other vehicles with wheel well liners and they had flaps built into them to change bulbs. -- made it actually quite easy.

There will always be annoyances & head-scratchers, but...
I'm just thrilled this "engineering marvel" allows me to drive a full size four wheel drive truck that is more quiet & comfortable than most cars, pull a trailer like it's not even there, average over 20mpg all year long, run a sub-6 second 0-60, have one of the best crash ratings on the road, enjoy (comparatively) cheap insurance, and love every mile behind the wheel.

I suspect it's because adding an access panel would increase complexity and cost for little relative benefit. I've had vehicles that went more than 10 years and didn't need to replace bulbs. As bulbs are not a routine scheduled maintenance, it doesn't make much sense to try and make it super easy if it increases complexity and cost. On the other hand, if the bulbs needed to be replaced every few months, having something to make it easier would make sense to design in.

I always wondered why some settings are not available while driving while others are. For example: while driving I can use the steering wheel control to scroll through the vehicle information, check and reset fuel economy, look at the offroad display, and a lot more. But I can't choose which trailer I have connected. For that I have to come to a complete stop. I often hook up to one of my trailers and then start driving before I remember to choose the right trailer. I know it's not a huge problem, it just seems weird that I can do so much while driving, but I can't click on a different trailer. Makes no sense.

Worst hairday ever...
Why not have a screen in the Cluster or APIM that displays the DTC/CEL codes and history, pending, etc? Instead of buying a cheap ELM adapter from Amaozon and using a free phone app.

Drivers side, back seat not having a simple strap to make lowering the seatback easy.
We know all the tricks and you can buy the kit...but seriously...it just needs 10 cents worth of strap from the factory.
