Maybe two separate groups wrote the code and they didn’t talk to each other?
Okay, it looks like I was wrong (or something changed). Originally (when the truck was new), every time I disconnected the trailer I had to go in and update the trailer setup menu to show "NO TRAILER CONNECTED," or else the trailer mileage continued to accumulate without the trailer. Now I don't have to do that. Either I dreamed it the first time or maybe there was a s/w update. Whatever, I am happy!

As for wanting remote lights for flat towing behind an RV, it's economics. How many people are flat towing an F150 behind anything that require remote lighting activation?

I really just want headlights that are functionally adequate without changing them a couple weeks into ownership. Those lights are ridiculous.
Ford developed and installed software for Recreational Towing mode, probably in ALL 4x4 trucks. So they recognized the market. Im just asking why didn't they fully support it with a simple circuit interface and remote control input connector somewhere (maybe at the BCM) for a lighting control input. The external wiring and front connector could be optional extra cost.

Motorhome RV people are also a wealthy market that would probably respond to Ford marketing of a "complete" 4-down towed solution. No company has it as far as I know and they spend a lot modifying their vehicles to achieve it.

The two thing that get me are:

1. The ridiculous plastic oil change plug and it’s location. (Throw in the location of the oil filter for good measure!)
2. Halogen headlights? Really? On a $50,000+ truck? And you have to take apart the front end (and be a contortionist) to change bulbs?

My buddies Magnetic is magnetic. A 2012. Guess they didn’t want to abandon an awesome color based on aluminum’s properties.

I can't believe the aftermarket hasn't saved us all with a metallic one. Truly is an Achilles heel that keeps the 2.7 from being a legendary Ford engine.

That being said, 64,xxx miles and still on my original oil pan. Did notice my original drain plug (also plastic) was starting to weep/mist ever so slightly. Will replace it on the next oil change.
