I concede -there is more in the pan from 15 minutes of drip than anticipated.

I apologize to the bride.

With all my years of doing my own oil changes, going to the dealer, or using a quick lube, it's all about trust and confidence. If you can drive away from a business with a feeling of confidence in the work that was done, you'll be fine.
My takeaway from lying underneath my truck for that long, is that Ford is correct in requiring a 15 minute drain. Next time I will time the amount of oil that drains out from the 10-15 minute mark. That's the difference in what a quick lube would do.

We are living in a crazy time and until things get back to normal( if that is possible?), I will continue to do as much as I can myself, for as long as I'm physically able.

FYI, I put that little bit in a bottle to send to Blackstone Labs. Hopefully it's enough for an analysis.

I got the lab results back on the small amount of oil that drained out during the 15 to 30 minute drain.

[QUOTE][ Universal averages show typical wear results from a 3.5L EcoBoost after a ~6,000-mile interval.
Your oil was in use 9,299 miles and we found all wear from the engine reading around (or below) average
levels and in the correct balance to show proper wear and normal mechanical function. Silicon can show dirt
in analysis, but we usually find extra wear when that's the case since dirt is abrasive. Instead, the silicon
probably has a harmless source like sealer or lube. We didn't have enough sample to check for fuel this
time. No coolant was found in this 5W/30.QUOTE]

I don’t think I'll lay underneath the truck an extra 15 minutes in the future. That small amount of oil is not worth the boredom.

my dealer does the exact same thing, way over filled. I drained out almost 1 quart, this has happened 3 times in a row. now I do my own oil change.
