Default Ford dealership lied regarding scheduled maintenance

I took my truck in today regarding recall and scheduled service maintenance per 20,000 mile maintenance schedule. I had changed my oil at 18,900 or so. I requested not to have that done, but did request cabin air filter.

I signed up for this package deal/ anti rust, enviroseal which coats interior/exterior, works well on sisters fusion. About $1000 for the package. I get done waiting for service, they give me the invoice for 0 saying there is no cabin air filter, they removed glove box I was told and did not find one. The service desk guy basically says they said there is no air filter on xl or xlt, only on lariat and higher trims.

So I get home and investigate, sure enough I have a cabin air filter.

Already messaged the sales regarding package deal to cancel it. Disappointing because how many customers are they telling stuff like this to, is it causing reliability problems for people, is the company fraudulently making warranty claims intentionally avoiding small maintenance in hopes of bigger ticket items in which warranty pays them. How many customers would let something like this go until warranty was out and it has done ruined expensive to replace parts? Such a simple job I requested to be done, just a few minutes...turns out many people locally have bad luck with this dealer. SEE HANDWRITTEN NOTE ON INVOICE. So what no scheduled maintenance done, billed zero although I requested the service minus oil change?

What would you do?

yes, I got home and found it dirty and unchanged. I have an invoice marked 0...hand written "no cabin air filter". The guy says the mechanic said he did not find an air filter after disassembling, says only on trims lariat and higher. The desk guy said he had no idea there was not one, thought all new cars had a cabin filter.

Well there’s really only two possibilities, they are either stupid or liars. While I find it hard to believe that anyone working in a shop wouldn’t know it has a filter I do see incredibly stupid people every day so it’s possible. And if they were liars I would think they would just bill it and say it was done. I wouldn’t want to do business with them under either scenario.

They are a large well known dealer, they actually own shops for multiple competing foreign domestic brands all on one lot just different buildings. The guy told me they disassembled it and there is not one there. How can you disassemble it and not see it, then claim only on lariat and higher trims. cabin filters are not in different locations regardless of trim level.

My problem now is, have they done necessary checks and recalls properly up to this point?

So, they lied or goofed about an air filter. What other scheduled maintenance did they lie about that I’m missing? Seems a bit exaggerated over an air filter, especially if you weren’t charged for a new one.

They could have charged you and said they replaced it, then I’d see a complaint.

I would not trust any of the work they say they did. Clearly they are either incompetent or liars.

That's just it, it is just an air filter, what is so hard about replacing it when paid to do it to keep my truck under warranty? Had I been uneducated about the matter I would go a few more years and things would fail regarding ventilation costing much more, if it is just an air filter here, what other services am I paying for when they are not doing their job on something as small as this?

Can I trust tire rotation, brake jobs, oil changes, fluid changes??? I don't really know. So that is my issue, course they did not bill me, but deliberately lied. It concerns me that people like my sister or a few women I know who know absolutely nothing but go to this dealership for their ford, and they do seem to have some issues more often then they should.
