On the programming end, I just want to be sure I have it right.

Connect to the new APIM once installed, and plug in the values from the 'donor' VIN. In the attachment, my 2015 APIM values are in blue and a 2016 F150 with the same equipment is in purple.

Am I missing something? Seems too easy....

Attachment 530235
It is too easy... all the bits are not the same from Sync 2 to Sync 3.

You will have issues if you copy end of 7D0-01-01, beginning of 7D0-02-01, entire 7D0-03-01, entire 7D0-04-01... they mean different things than they did in Sync 2.

Little background...

I am using an HP laptop (less than 6 months old) running Windows 10 with all the latest updates installed. Currently using FORScan v2.3.10, OBDLink MX Bluetooth adapter and Plugable USB Bluetooth 4.0 dongle. I have no other devices, like a cell phone or tablet, in the vehicle that would be connected via Bluetooth to Sync 2. I always install the OBDLink MX Bluetooth adapter, turn on the ignition switch (engine off) and confirm I have established a connection with the OBDLink MX Bluetooth adapter. Then I open FORScan and proceed with whatever task I have set out to accomplish.

Using FORScan v2.3.9 on 7/22/17 I followed this exact procedure. OBDLink MX Bluetooth adapter was connected to the laptop, FORScan was open and reading the vehicle's modules. While reading the modules, FORScan stopped responding after reading the PCM. There is always a slight pause after reading the PCM, but this time FORScan stopped responding for over 5 minutes and would not recover. I went to Task Manager and confirmed FORScan was not responding. I could not even disconnect FORScan from the vehicle and close the program. I proceeded to close FORScan using Task Manager. I shut the key off and started the entire process all over again. This time FORScan read all the modules. I proceeded to go to the BCM to Disable Rear Lamp Outage. This was the only address I was writing to. I made the changes, clicked “Write” and very shortly a message box popped up stating FORScan was unable to make the changes due to an invalid configuration. Without closing FORScan, I went back into the BCM, made the exact same change to that same address and FORScan successfully wrote the new configuration. I saved the new BCM configuration and disconnected from the vehicle. I compared the previous BCM configuration abt file to the new BCM configuration abt file and the change was made. All other addresses in the BCM remained unchanged. I then confirmed the Rear Lamp Outage was indeed disabled and all worked correctly.

Today using FORScan v2.3.10 I went to Enable the spot lamps in the BCM of this same vehicle. The exact same errors occurred in the exact same sequence. After finally successfully writing the 726-56-01 address, I saved the new BCM configuration abt file and just as before, FORScan wrote the address correctly and no other addresses were changed. Spot lamps do work.

I have not tried to program any other modules other than the BCM since this problem started so I can't say if there is an issue programming those modules. That still wouldn’t explain why FORScan stopped responding when initially reading all the modules in the vehicle.

Any thoughts ??
I'm glad I found this. I'm getting my MX from Amazon later today and I also have an HP with Win 10 on it. I wonder what kind of firmware version will the MX have and if it makes any difference of not.

Default Oil pressure reading in 8" IPC

I read somewhere in this thread that people where wanting a numerical read out for the oil pressure. I found this post in another thread

https://www.f150forum.com/f118/2016-...3/#post5327065

I wonder if this is why we can have a numerical read out for the oil pressure (like on the turbo gauge):

"The 2.7, and 5.0 have analog oil pressure sensors, and the signal from the oil pressure sensors is fed into the PCM. Even though, the actual oil pressure data is available, the instrument panel oil pressure gauge shows no oil pressure, or half-scale, any variations in oil pressure can't be seen. I find it interesting that the actual oil pressure can be seen, using an IDS. The 3.5 uses a normally open oil pressure switch, so the oil pressure data isn't available"

Normally I try and separate 12 gen from 13 gen ForScan posts. I had no intention of even making a video this weekend. It's truly the result of a last minute note to my friend; however, since I quickly threw together some info in a Vlog format which not only applies to our 13 Gen F150's, but also ForScan in general. I'm posting this here.

I opened the wrench icon and performed a BCM reset, disconnected Forscan and went to the back. Same thing, dash cargo light switch works. Bed switch does not. I am using this adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

But I am returning that and ordering this one:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...KIKX0DER&psc=1

I will not be able to do anything else with Forscan until I receive my new adapter.
Did you ever figure this out? I just installed the bed light kit on my 2017, and the switch on the dash works, but the switch in the bed does nothing.

Or has anyone else had this problem?

ETA: I did flip the one bit on the forscan spreadsheet, that got the inside switch working, but the outside does nothing.

ETA Again: I just did the BCM reset and still nothing from the switch.

Does any one know what the value would be for the sync3 system to show the zoom feature for the backup camera and have it work?
Before I did my sync2 to 3 swap, my sync2 had the ability to press the plus sign on the backup camera screen to zoom the image. I have the plus sing on my sync3 however it doesn't do anything other than the beep noise.

Nope, i cleared all the codes and have none. It only works with the inside switch, which makes me regret wasting all that cash buying the factory kit. I assume something changed in the 17's that make it different.

I was just trying to help out a buddy by activating his OEM trailer brake controller that he had installed himself. I tried to use ForScan to activate it but I was only getting 3 or 4 modules showing up on his truck. It is a 2016 XLT 2.7 EB.

After I noticed I was not getting all the modules I took the bluetooth adapter and laptop over to my 2014 Lariat 3.5 EB and was able to pull everything up including the IPC module and was able to look at the brake controller option on mine.

Went back to his truck and still only got the same 4 modules. Any insight? I am using an OBDLink LX adapater and thought this might be the issue but was confused as to why it can see all of F150s modules.
