Got the OBD II plugin to sync with the Bluetooth dongle on my windows 10 laptop. YEA! everything set to AUTO mode.

Backed up all the As Built files, Then backed those up, and finally backed those up.

Changed BCM 726-39-01 to 001E x1xx xxxx to turn off the 12 volt outlets (cigarette lighter plugs) when the door opened and the ignition is off. This was done as I have a dash cam and did not like the 45 minute timeout.

Changed BCM 726-41-02 to xxx0 xxxx xxxx to get ride of the double honk when getting out of the truck. This scared the **** out of the little neighbor girl the first time it happened.

Changed BCM 726-27-01 to xxxx xxx0 01xx for Bambi mode remembered after ignition on/off. I am still not sure what this means vs the not remembered with ignition on/off. If someone can explain the difference it would be greatly appreciated.

Changed APIM 7D0-01-01 to xxxx xxxx x6xx so the heated/cooled seats and steering wheel controls would show up on the sync3 home and climate screens.

Changed IPC 720-01-01 to xxxx xx0x xxxx to turn off the drive and passenger seat belt warning. FLAME SUIT on. Yes I spend a LOT of the time up at the cabin driving on dirt roads below 5MPH and getting in and out of the truck. I am also responsible for my own actions unlike may these days.

I changed one thing at a time with an ignition cycle afterwords. I backed up the modded files when I was done with them

Everything worked very simply and exactly like it is stated in this thread. MANY thanks to all of you here and all of you that made this possible. The truck is now more to my liking.

thank you for the info on turning off the 12v outlets - this will be the exact same changes needed for my 2018 right xlt 302 right?? . Been wanting to install my dashcam, but havent because I didnt want it staying on after I got out of the truck. (also didnt want to get into hardwiring to fuse panel etc).

Mongoose pro is certified by Motocraft for use with FMP so I'm leaning towards that one.
Find anything out there cheaper than the Mongoose Pro? $495 is a tough pill to swallow. I'm split between that and a VCM II clone, but don't know of a source for a reputable clone. Then genuine ELS27 (https://els27.ru/en-us/), seems to be another solid option at $70, but they haven't returned my purchase inquiry for months... If I can find a good VCM II clone, I'm leaning towards that, since if I hosed a firmware update I could at least (hopefully) use IDS to restore.

Please note: This was on a 2016 Lariat. This did change the 12 volt outlet timeout to 30 seconds and not when the door opens with the ignition off. It did that when I first did it but reverted to 30 second delay. It was probably just me being stupid :-)

That's the one I use with my Windows 10 laptop. Works every time.

Has anyone figured out how to make the cluster back light brighter with the headlights on? Would like them to be as bright as they can be with the lights off.

it doesn't list those relearns for me, after changing the code it is now throwing a u0422 in the pcm that won't go away.

You must be using an older version of FORScan, install the newest version and you'll see it. It may not get rid of that particular DTC but it's your only hope.

You can go full brightness with the dimmer control. Do you mean brighter than that?

I have my dash cam hardwired. It was easy to do and no cords hanging in the way all the time.. It's easy to tuck the cord under the headliner, than down the passenger "A" pillar to the fuse box that's right there.. Pulled a hot when on fuse stuffed the wire into the after fused side of socket and replaced the fuse.

Yes, I double checked that the numbers were correct in Forscan. I made sure DRL is enabled in IPC, truck is on and not in park. I get no lights coming on at all.
