I have mine set to Bluetooth in the drop down box & auto connect box checked
Then the adapter drop down box shows OBDLink MX
Stupid question I know, but have you made sure the BT is turned on on the laptop. Sometimes its the obvious that stops us in our tracks
LOL--yes its turned on, Ill put the settings back to BT, but my dropdown box is greyed out at the moment---still curious why is it searching for WI-FI lol. OK I DO HAVE the BT dongle on this laptop (its not mine) but it does show the laptop dicoverable and My IPHONE will see the computer!

Did you push the button on the MXBT? You're not going anywhere till the laptop sees the MXBT..
if not:
on the BT MX, press the button so it's in pair mode
on your laptop, bring up bluetooth, and the add device. if it's win 10, it will ask you what type of device, i paired mine as a "keyboard, mouse, or other" type device (top button of the three.).
then you should be able to discover it and pair from the laptop.
once paired, bring up forscan, on the wrench, and choose the paired adapter in the drop down box.
When I got the test version that can do flashing, I strongly suggested to the developers that they not have it listed right in the programming area enabled by default and that they include a checkbox in the settings screen that must be enabled to trigger this advanced mode to make the firmware stuff even visible. I told them a lot of people would be too curious and would get themselves into trouble but they disagreed and look at it like it's a new feature that they want to showcase.
Personally, Im not a fan of the layout either. I think placing the module firmware updates in the same tab as module programming looks cluttered and will entice users who are attracted by the word update to make grave errors.
Looks like I should be around southern Neveda last week of January / first week of February for business. If Trump dosent let me in I guess I will just have to fly to Mexico and walk over lol. If anyone wants to talk trucks over craft beer Im in.
You will be surprised how fast two months goes by and you have to do it over again. And can't remember how to do it..
Aint that the truth! I wanted to do the bulb outage changes for LEd's and what a chore getting a new license and figuring out how to write the changes. Need to delete Sirius and add global windows then my meddling is done.
Hello, can you help me with my Ford Focus MK3 2017 Facelift EU Model.
I have Sync3 with Navi, Dual Clima automatic steering wheel heating and heated seats.
My sync has software version 3.0
The climate control I could sync3 with
7D0-04-01: xxxx xxx0 xxxx - To see set temperatures on main screen (shortcut to climate setting window is climate button enabled)
brought no change.
I set value again to 7D0-04-0: xxxx xxx1 xxxx.
Then I have
7D0-01-01: xxxx xxxx xXxx
7 = Heated Steering Wheel and Heated Seats
changed and it is available.
Unfortunately, the buttons do not work in Sync3.
I do not know how to continue. I already tried everything. Whether only to activate seats or only steering wheel.
Everything is displayed accordingly but unfortunately without function.
Please help me.
Maybe Ford Focus has a different encoding list.
Many Thanks
