FORScan - software to enable/disable features in your truck

With any truck, correcting the tire size in the computer will make the speedo accurate again, and change the shift points slightly (towards normal), as a result of the speedo being accurate again. But to get any more transmission behaviour change out of it can only be accomplished with a tune. By moving to bigger tires, that's simply a consequence you have to accept.
It doesn't matter whether you use Hypertech or Forscan, you cannot directly influence transmission behaviour. That is why I have always opted for 3.73 geared trucks, as it'll have a bit more headroom than a 3.31 truck. Alternatively, you can get a tune and you'll have to worry no more.

The truck in question has 3.55’s (or was it 3.73’s? now I can’t remember what he has. Lower than mine..) and under 35” tires, so it’s nothing drastic.
Now the question is if he will get that persistent DTC error code Livin was talking about or will he get the one that can be cleared with a relearn.

Either way I see this as a valuable sale tool for Clusters by Livnitup. He can sell replacement / retrofit 8" LCD clusters, program them for X Miles or X KM (where X = minimum value to transfer over on a per customer basis) and allow the end user to carry over the correct millage upon install with ForScan. This takes pressure off the end user to install said part within a specific time frame / distance and in the comfort of their own garage.

I'm still curious what happens if you max out the millage in ForScan and then drive for a few miles? Will it roll over allowing you to make an increase again to an overall lower numerical value lol?

I would like to know because it would be nice to be able to source a used cluster and match the mileage if its higher than your truck.

This odometer write procedure isn't something that was hacked together either; it is a Ford service procedure that is available in Europe (but not in the U.S.) for the cars there and was made to work on non-European VINs in FORScan.

That being said, I have already talked to a dealer who won't take my truck in trade as it is with these obvious changes. Although that is not what inspired me to go this route I think dealers are getting wise to all of this and don't want to take a chance. A service manager said he would rather take a flood car in.
One other thing, I think some of us are getting a little careless with Forscan. This system is really nothing more than a PLC (Programmable logic controller) similar to what makes industrial machinery work. I think a little caution is in order here. Constantly plugging into the port and possibly damaging pins or loading corrupt files can easily render a truck useless. These chips have a finite number of writes before they go bad. Just like to remind folks. Not start an argument or discourage folks.

Yeah I didn't have any doubt that it worked I was referring to the roll over back to zero.
