Since you have the ELMconfig adapter, try plugging the adapter into your laptop before you plug the other end into the OBD2 port. This is a problem I had in the beginning as well. Especially since the truck is off, the adapter appears to need power first; the power can only come from your laptop. Afterwards, you should see the lights illuminate on the adapter, then plug it into the OBD2 port, turn the truck on, and connect in Forscan.

Make sure you have the connector plugged all the way in. Wiggle it back and forth a bit as you push hard to get it connected. Mine is pretty tight and have to use this method to get a good connection.

I have my OBDII adapter coming tomorrow to get into the FORScan fun. My truck is tuned with an SCT tuner, just confirming i'm good to put the stock tune back in, adjust parameters using FORScan and then re-tune using the SCT, correct?

Another thing I hadn't thought of. Is it necessary to return to stock tune? I didn't think most of us were getting into anything that would affect tune.

I figured i'd have to return it to stock since the SCT replaces the stock tune with theirs. Then again it might not affect the same things as FORScan and might not be necessary to swap? I'll be the guinea pig and see if I forscan will work with the SCT tune in.

It's not a bad thing to do, you have me scared now. It does only take a few minutes to be on the safe side.

I'm sure that if I am wrong, someone will gently correct me. If I am not mistaken, the fake engine noise is only on Lariat and above.

Not seeing this listed mod in the spreadsheet linked in the OP. Is there a longer or more updated list I am missing somewhere?
