The closest match to your suggestion is 720-07-01 8409 8EA0 604A (Trailer Brake Control Module enabled)
Thats the right one but I just tried and it didn't work. Your numbers will not match exactly becouse different vehicles have different values. The easiest way to think of it is to look at the first numbers as an address. So 720-07-01 is the address your looking for. 720 would be the module we are working with and 07-01 is the line item. After that the numbers are going to be different for each car based on options so you would leave everything alone on your line except the one digit instructed to change.

I understand how the programming works and how values will differ from vehicle to vehicle. My point was that none of the entries in my IPC or on Livnitup's spreadsheet have EA8* as the 2nd byte. Rarely are the values wildly different from each other. I am guessing Dan's suggestion was a typo ?

On a side note, it seems that the other temp displays are related to 8E*0 60**

I am going to try changing the * in the 8E*0 and see what displays.

To have the light come on when then tail gate is opened(I think this was what you wanted) you would still need some kind of switch, so the truck knows you opened it. I think you might be able to wire in bed switch to tailgate release switch then maybe change delay with software but I think it would need to be wired into the system you want to change before software would work. As of now the truck doesn't know if the tailgate is opened or closed when the ignition is not on.

Do you remember Livnitup once saying that he got a "tailgate ajar" message when he was testing FORScan ? That might indicate the presence of a detection circuit, or at least the ability to have the BCM detect a switch for it ?

Just a thought. I tried searching for it here but was not able to find it.

Truck knows the tailgate is open. Ford disabled the warning. See the tailgate TSB on this list: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/2015-...5/#post4359024

Is it me or is it a little bit sad that instead of fixing the issue they chose to disable the feature instead ?

I already( Livnitup probably has too) tried every digit from 0-9 in that spot and never got pressure gauge to work. I get different combinations of temp on the other gauges but nothing on the oil gauge.

Question - is there a reason you didn't try B-F ? Not being a wise-guy, just curious.

It is sad but not surprising I mean heck they gave up on the cooled seats.
