Except I said turn signals, not the LED strip. The turn signals are ONLY activated when turning and when four ways are on, which means a 50% duty cycle when activated. They were likely not engineered for a 100% duty cycle hence my concerns. Headlamps must always be designed for a 100% duty cycle so using them as DRLs is safe.

That's true but I think the doors are still present, they're just sealed. I recall reading a thread where someone had cut them open for some reason, in fact I think it was their dealer that did it. Don't recall why.

Ok, I tried Dan's DLR setup for parking lights only. I have standard halogens and could not get the lights to work. I was able to add "Turn Lights" and that worked. I'm a little concerned about the turn lights being on for a long period of time. Could this be a problem with heat?

What?

I made a typo. I corrected that just now.

Not sure why that worked for you.

Sorry.

I meant to type 726-26.

From playing around today on my 2017 with stock halogens these are my results.

My 2017 was purchased in Canada and a while ago I set the DRLs as configurable (like American sold trucks) as listed at the bottom of this post.

//

Ambers as DRLs = turn signals only (1 amber bulb per factory halogen headlamp (middle amber bulb)) as DRLs.

Do that via:
726-45-01: xxxx 7Fxx xxxx
+
726-50-01: 0886

----------------------------

Park Lamps as DRLs = tail light, all ambers (2 amber bulbs per factory halogen headlamp (middle amber and top amber)) and tow mirror ambers

Do that via:
726-50-01: 017F
+
726-26-02: x1xx xxxx xx

----------------------------------

Fogs as DRLs =
726-45-01: xxxx 7Fxx xxxx
+
726-50-01: 0482

-----------------------------------

American style, Configurable DRLs is need to apply all settings listed above. That is achieved by setting our Canadian trucks to:

726-16-02: 0101 0101 0049
+
726-21-01: xxxx xxxx x1xx
+
726-02-01: consult spreadsheet as per IPC lane keep configuration.

I can't see that anything has changed. No DRL's of any kind.
I second what Livnitup said about the IPC.

Also, how are you checking?

Test it like this:

Make sure it's daytime outside and your ambient light sensor isn't enabling night mode.

(Put your truck under sun light).

Check productivity screen lighting options.
Put the headlamp switch in the auto position.
Put your truck in drive.
Apply parking brake.
Get out and look at the front of your truck.

The main thing I'm trying to figure out is if the BLIS system has any additional modules then those in the taillights themselves? Programming wise, I've noticed the BLIS equipped trucks have a lot addresses that start with 7C4-XX-XX and 7C6-XX-XX. If there is not a separate BLIS module, which module would those address be stored in? I looked through Livinitup's spreadsheet and didn't see any listings with 7C4 or 7C6.
FYI,

I know from experience that BLIS tail lights need to be calibrated with IDS, even if swapping from one identical truck to another. Don't ask me why. I speculated that it might have to do with bed length.

Yeah you're right. I spoke too soon. With the HL switch on Auto, it must have been just overcast enough to turn on the headlights. This is why they worked.

I gave up on it for today. I will experiment a little more tomorrow when its light enough.

No idea what temp is set for climate, No phone (keeps asking to turn on bluetooth). I think I'm going to have to take it to the dealer and eat the cost of a new module
It would probably be less expensive to upgrade to sync 3 if you bricked your current MFT. Their is a nasty core parts charge associated with the APIM. I worked it out to just over $2,000 last time I checked. I already know Panasonic makes it from the FCC ID, and they don't sell them separate (I asked Panasonic directly). If you need a new APIM your options are Ford, eBay or Pick N Pull...

hopefully that's not the case. Good luck.
