I think forscan is going to keep our average speed low with all the key on time without moving.

Dam,,, Seems I'm the one with the most usage on it... I drove the truck today for the first time after doing it... Zeroed the gage on pulling out the driveway. While driving down my street after a 1/2 mile it showed 2, after getting where I was going another mile or so away it showed 4. After loading the truck and getting back home it showed 8 amph.

So I didn't drive 8 miles in the hour I was gone.. Thought maybe the average speed includes time truck was off? But just checked and after being parked for over two hours it's still showing 8 amph.

More testing to follow I guess....

Default RE: Average speed

I haven't driven mine since changing it but it should be easy to test accuracy. Get on an open road and set the cruise control. Then reset it and see what it says. If its accurate it should match the cruise control speed.

Did you reset the trip counters beforehand? I'm wondering if it's reading low because it was just enabled and tacking onto the existing trip counter (if it's even tied to that) that it has no mph data for?

Just playing around with some things, looking at BCM blocks that have no info.

726-56 appears to be labeled wrong in the spreadsheet or you mislabeled the puddle lamps as spot lights. It's certainly not the spot light enable / disable address (in 2017).

726-22-02 is correct for those.

Anyway,

after changing 726-57-01 to 0'X'00 0100 0089 to a '0' just now, the ignition shut off lol, never had that happen before, ever, so that address might be the keyless ignition button.

After adding this I sat in the truck doing other things. Finally drove somewhere and the average mileage was down around 2 then 3 for my short trip. Reset in the parking lot after starting the truck to return home and it immediately started showing rather accurate speed(s). Slowing down, sitting at traffic lights etc. sure brings it back down in a hurry.

Unless you are doing a bunch of continuous driving I think it's going to surprise most how slow your average speed actually is, especially in stop and go traffic as it does seem to average in your stopped time.

Doesn't seem to work that way,, unless after 100 hours at 75 it adds up..

Going to take more driving around to figure out what it's doing..

idrive might be right we are going a lot slower than we think.. Might be why I keep passing the same guy on his bike all the time?
