I have a '17 XL with STX, so I have Sync3. I want to see about adding Navigation, but my truck does not have the SD cart slot and USB ports in the center console storage, just the two front USB ports under the a/c controls. Is it possible to still add NAV?
The best way to add Nav to a 16-17 f150 is to use android auto or carplay and plug your phone into the usb port.
getting the nav hardware can be very expensive.
I use android auto and it works great.

I have the spreadsheet, it just talks about activating things. I know it's not as simple as activating the nav on my sync3

I prefer not to use android auto...it feels clunky and highly restrictive at best.

for sync 3. save your apim data. swap out apim with one with nav. then load your apim data with one change for enabling the nav

There are two "2" links on the first post.. Did you look at both of them?

I can't help with the nav on sync 3 as I have a sync 2 with factory nav... And I'm glad I have it,,, I like it..

there's 1 link on the very first post here. The link in his signature is the identical document.

The first post shows how to program and the spreadsheets list all the known things to program. The reason you don't see anything for adding NAV to a 2017 is because it doesn't exist. Only 2015s w/Sync 2 can be modified in conjunction w/FORScan to enable NAV.

Edit: added your question to the FAQ section of the tutorial

Edit #2: when I went to respond, no other responses were showing until I posted and now see many so it wasn't my intent to pile on to the other responses.

I realize this description is vague but that's what it says so this is the description that will be added to the spreadsheet for consistency. I'm unsure what Type 2/3 do so I'll leave that up to others to experiment and post any observed differences.
I've been watching this thread hit and miss and I'm a bit lost. Is this to fix the issue with the LED headlamp adapters? For example my RR adapters cause the drivers side headlight to turn off after a while when on auto or when it is being used a a drl. Does this fix it?

Your symptoms sound just like another member who pm'd me and then reported this change solved his issues so I'd definitely give it a try if I were you.
