Is the whole top hat plastic now?

The black part that says "Fox" on it is now plastic. I haven't got around to swapping mine because frankly they aren't really bothering me right now and I rarely hear them squeak. I wanted to have the replacements though in case they start squeaking more.

FOX 2.0 Replacement Top Cap - Beauty Ring - Logo Ring Part #006-00-015

I have a 2015 Ford SCREW ECO 4x4. Fox 2.0 coil overs sound like my old ranch truck with these on. Just like all the videos on YOUTUBE and forum complaints the noise is driving me crazy. FOX customer service mailed me 2 plastic Top Caps / Logo Rings.


The problem is my installer says he was have to remove and break down the struts. I'm not sure if I should wait 6 months and hope the noise goes away or try the new plastic top caps / logo rings. Anyone have any thoughts ?

Anyone know if the Plastic top cap fixed this problem? what about grease inside the old aluminum top cap?

replace them with Icons or bilsteins? Old trusty never lets you down!

Unfortunately i have to live with these for a few years. (Cant afford to replace them..)

I have not switched out the top cap yet. The local installation guy has not called me back to get it done. He said it will take all day to break down and install the new plastic cap.

the noise is still there month 4. I may sell truck and get a Lariat in Oct.
