I just read through the threads, I did not see if these grilles utilize the factory inner grille with shutters or are as a complete replacement for the factory grille. I have a Platinum grille but my inner grille is messed up.
Thanks
Dennis

This is just the outer portion. You attach it to the stock inner structure, including the shutters.

Finally got my GalaxyMoto Raptor Grille in the other day. I originally planned to paint the border of the grill and the letters to match the paint of my metallic gray fx4, but the more I look at it, I think it may look better just keeping it matte black. My reasoning is because I dont think it contrasts as well as, say a PTM grille on a white truck with the honeycomb section remaining black. Anyone else have any input? I know its my truck and my personal preference but just curious to see what other people may think and the input they offer.

I had similar plans to paint portions of it, but the more I looked at it, i said F it and took it to the local line-x place and had them line-x the grill then follow the grill lines down the bumper like the lariat sports bumpers are. Turned out pretty well

Looks good, but then I think about trying to wash it. Just sounds like the rough surface on it will catch fibers of whatever I'm using to clean it with. I might be wrong. I may go the route of coating with a clear coat as a protective finish. Just want it to not be glossy and/or make the black color look hazy.

Looks more finished painted. Certainly stands out more on white, but looks more factory then store bought.

That does look clean! I looked through this entire thread and havent seen a single person that had the border of the grille and the letters PTM in the Magnetic color. Just visualizing it in my head, it just doesnt appear to look as good contrasting wise if you understand what I mean. If my truck was white, red, or blue, I definitely see that it looks better when its PTM, IMO. I dont want to spend all this money having a paint and body shop painting it and then think it looked better black haha

Finally got my grill installed. Really happy with the results and I get a lot of compliments on it. Took it on a road trip almost 4000 miles. Went across country with tons of bugs and a the hardest ran storm I have ever driven through. Head wind driving rain right at me and I am happy to say the new GM LEDs did not leak. Bugs came off the Line-X very easy.

Looking good guys.

Finally purchases mine, should be shipped ASAP according to GM. Shoud look different with a chrome grille on a chrome pkg. Lariat. I might get the honeycombs painted black and keep the surround and letter chromed.
