How do I make the exhaust louder?

Hey guys,
We recently bought a 2015 F150 5.0 and my old man wants the truck with a bit more aggressive tone. We are not planing to purchase an entire exhaust system. Instead, I'm looking for a simple/quick/cost efficient solution. Also, we don't want the truck to be too loud. Just a step up from a stock tone. With that being said, what is the best solution to give it that extra oomph?
I've been reading through the forum and a lot of people mentioned about deleting the muffler. Now......if I manage to delete the muffler, how would I go about that process? Do I straight pipe that section? Any welding required? And is it legal?
Others have mentioned about adding a tip. But does tip really enhance the exhaust tone?
Any advise is appreciated. Thanks!

As a trial, unbolt the exhaust pipe just ahead of the muffler and fire up the engine. I suspect you will not be fond of the sound that removal of the muffler provides.
No, removing the exhaust tip only provides one less item to keep clean. It has no effect on exhaust sound.

replace the muffler with a aftermarket kit. Or cut the muffler out and replace it with a straight through glass pack. This will be quite a bit louder though and legal depends on your local state and emission laws.
On second thought you are from Cali so Yeah it's probably illegal to even talk about removing an exhaust component.

To get louder you have to have a more open muffler, more flow. A muffler muffles the sound. A lot of shop will sell you a muffler and let you try it. If it doesnt work they can easily change it out.

Louder?
Easy just use a large hammer and smash the exhaust off right at the manifold.

Take a 1/2" drill bit and crawl under the truck and drill out 24 holes evenly spaced in the muffler.
