Knocking noise from moonroof

The dealer I bought it from said they were well aware of the known issues with the moonroof making noises and that I should bring it in and they'd try to get authorization from Ford to fix it. I'm not holding my breath.
This is only item #1 on a list of 6 items that it needs to have fixed already after only 5,500 miles..sure hope it is not a sign of things to come from this truck.

I have this issue as well. Sounds like it is coming from the roof but because I couldn't seem to reproduce it with my hands, I thought it was the seat belt, now I was thinking that is was the rear seat not being fully engaged. Sounds like this is more of a widespread issue.
I have to return my truck for the Adaptive cruise recall so I guess I should have them look at this as well.

I have to think that to Ford the costs of diagnosing, engineering and dispatching a repair far out weigh the disappointment of a few of their customers...or all those with the dual pane roofs that is.
I do not expect to EVER see a TSB or Recall for this issue because it is not safety related and as stated is not in their best interests financially to remedy. I'm already on the hook for the remaining payments with or without the annoying clunking coming from my moonroof.
I have ALWAYS been Ford Truck loyal and it would pain me to make the switch (because all of my friends are Chevy fans) but that may in fact happen if things like this don't get resolved. Their occasional mockery would be far less annoying than this noise coming from my roof.

Add another victim to the dual panel moonroof / sunroof knocking. Mine started like most others around 5000 miles. Currently about 6500 miles on the truck that I purchased last April. This truck makes more noise than any truck I have owned and it is driving me absolutely nuts. Close to 60K for this truck and it sounds like a run down piece of junk.
After reading through every post here I am a bit hesitant to bring it to the dealer as it does not sound like there are any fixes yet and would prefer to not be a guinea pig.
Going back many posts a guy named Frank from an Auto Nation in Washington apparently had a fix but got flooded with calls. Did anyone ever find out what his fix was and if it stuck?
The knocking is seriously driving me mad and the only way it goes away is when the sunroof is tilted up and I know I am going to forget one of these days and walk out to a flooded truck!

Ford needs to listen to the people who buy premium trucks.... There are ford reps on this forum, but they are silent! Wonder why?

Thank you Steve for getting back. That is too bad seemed like the only real positive fix through all 26 pages! Bummer!
I would love if one of the Ford advisors that are on these boards would PM me or give me a better idea of how to fix this issue. It is extremely irritating to hear that noise. Of course when you know it is there also you tend to focus on it which makes it much worse especially when you factor in how much we have paid Ford for these trucks.

He actually called me and asked me to remove the post which mentioned him... Needless to say I don't have the time to go and remove my posts. His comment was that he can't suggest a fix as it might not be the same on other trucks. I think this was a cheap cop out....

Here I thought I was going nuts! I too noticed the knocking sound as if something is loose. At first I thought it was also a seatbealt hitting the side door panel or something else loose. Noticed this at about 8K miles. I'm gonna have my wife drive through the backroads and I'm going to sit in the back and closely inspect what's going on. Yes, it may be dangerous not having a seatbelt, but it's for the great good!

While I was at a dealer that was also a Lincoln dealer I browsed the lot and noticed that every model Lincoln they had on the lot had a double panel moon roof, wonder if those 50k edge/mkx have the same issues??
