Megan,
Instead of saying the same damn thing that all the CS reps have said, "VIN, mileage, etc etc," why don't you contact the higher ups and tell them that there are some really irritated 2015 Platinum owners that have spent $60,000 on the top of the line FORD truck and we have the noisiest damn trucks on the road!! My truck has nearly 23,000 miles on it and its only been quiet for 7,000 or so miles! Seriously! My 2011 that I traded in with 80,000 miles on it was quieter than this piece of **** that I have now! Its only been in twice for the moonroof issue and obviously has not been fixed. Get a damn fix!! It shouldn't be that hard for the Ford team to come up with a fix!! Can you tell that I'm at my wits end with this purchase!!?? I dread driving down any road that has even the smallest bump or a road that will make the truck flex. And my truck has many other issues on the interior. Driver side door rattles, Climate control area has a creak, the area where the windshield and dash meet has a creak or chirp kind of noise. Sorry for the rant, but I may not be a Ford truck owner in the near future.

Hi dooquie,

I recommend setting up an appointment with your dealer to have this checked out. Please let me know when you do.

Hi there,

I want to check out some additional assistance. Please send me a private message with your VIN, mileage, best daytime phone number, full name, and dealer info.

We're still here!

Meagan

Tim - the Ford Service representatives on the forums are not Ford. They are contracted as a customer service liaison between the dealer, customers and Ford reps. No reason to rant to them, not anything they can do but point you to your dealer. This was mentioned previously by Twakefield, on the cooling & heating seats thread, that "they are not Ford employees".

Now I can understand your frustration, and no way I could be satisfied with a $40k - $65k purchase, with the seemingly endless issues many are having!

While manufacturers work hard testing their trucks, until they get into the real world and tested by their new owners, all the kinks and issues don't show themselves. Then it's up to Ford, and in a few years, they may have most resolved?

Good luck.

Hi Tim,

Chad, Meagan, and I are members of Ford's Social Media team. We do not have access to our engineering folks, but we can assist by escalating customers to regional customer service managers. I definitely understand the frustration of having issues with your trucks; the best path forward is to get these concerns documented at the dealership level. Once this information is received, our engineering staff can identify any trending issues and work on solutions that will help everyone.

Hi Tolson37,

I see your PM in the inbox; one of us will get back with you as soon as we can. Once we have your details, we escalate it to the customer service manager for your region. They work with dealerships in their assigned area to resolve customer concerns. I wrote a little about our role on Ford's Social Media team above; we are part of a team who interacts with people on Facebook, Twitter, and on forums like this one. Let me know if you have any other questions.

My 2015 Lariat has also developed the dreaded moonroof rattle. I guess I'll be looking at a visit to the service department unless someone has a simple DIY fix?

Had truck looked at today for the cruise control tsb and moonroof. They couldn't find anything on moonroof. It only makes the thud when warm outside so i will have to wait for warmer weather for the thud noise unless i trade it off. Habitual trader and noises make me trade off much faster.

This is actually just me stupid ranting. See edit 2

Just was told by Autonation Ford of Bellevue they couldn't duplicate (and I quote) "Any noises that would be considered outside of normal". Note they didn't say no noise, just that apparently loud clunking noises are normal.

This is ****ing ridiculous, it makes a loud goddamn clunk over every bump and that's somehow not unusual. On a truck that cost 50k.

Should've just keep rocking my 100% silent 2003 Honda Pilot.

Anyone else have any luck with dealers in the Washington/Oregon? I'm willing to drive a ways if they're not going to pull this bull****.

EDIT: Apologies for the rage/rant thing. I'm just really frustrated at the brushing off I'm getting, and I'll be contacting Ford's corporate customer care and the regional rep that contacted me tomorrow morning.

EDIT 2: Actually after picking it up, it downright refuses to make the noise, even on roads where it's infuriated me in the past. Huh, stupid intermittent problems. It may well have not made the noise for them

Rants are allowed, no apologies necessary!

They may have just put some lube on the seals, who knows, don't worry it will be back before you know it. Finding a good dealer that can service your truck and treat you right, is much more important than the lowest price. I'm fortunate to have a good dealership service my Fords, and their service department keeps me as a Ford owner. Not to mention I've got a good Ford truck, as well!

Default Same issue here

I have the same issue, with moonroof closed, on my 2015 Platinum. I've taken it to the dealer four times. They've had it a total of two weeks. They've tightened screws, clips, brackets, etc. They've replaced the rails also. It always seems to be fixed for about a month, and then comes back. I'm not taking it in again until there is a known fix. I was a Chevy man before buying this Ford. I could have bought a Silverado for $10,000 less than I paid for the F150. I love this truck, but I can't live with the noise.
