If this is true for all of us with this issue, I believe we are in for a major run-around from ford. .....Which could explain the feet dragging on this.
I can't imagine they're gonna be exactly thrilled buying us all new glass panels. I wish my own dealer was as proactive with this issue as yours was.

Ford approved the replacement of the panels based on the dealers findings. No run around at all

FYI, I had more noise today than yesterday....damn!
I did a little poking around last night, and when I pressed down on the back edge corner of the front panel, (from above the truck), I could duplicate a faint knocking noise. Not as loud as when your driving, but could duplicate just pressing down on the panel. It's definitely in the area, where the pivot point for the venting occurs.
I didn't see anything wrong with the glass, seal, frame....all looks new still.

As per my post a few pages back, I just got my truck back after having "the procedure" done.
My dealer replaced the entire track under warranty. It's a massive frame that bolts directly to the ceiling of the truck and then to the glass. It's a huge job.
I am happy to report that it is ROCK solid with zero noise. The roof opens and closes without binding, and the interior went back together perfectly with no stains or bends in my headliner. Needless to say I am so happy to be able to enjoy my truck again without being embarrassed by that horrible noise. I just hope it holds up and the noise doesn't come back.

After days in the shop my truck was tore apart. But no more rattle in the moonroof. Entire moonroof frame was replaced and truck is like new!
My Truck was in the shop 3 times for this, first time they tried to tell me it was my sunglasses that was proven wrong. Second time they adjusted the glass, it was quite for about 5 miles. Third time it is still in the shop after 5 days, went to check on it two days ago... They had the door off of it, seats and console removed, headliner out. Sad to see a brand new truck in pieces. Today after they put it back together I get a call stating that they have it back together but the glass is binding and they will need to take it apart again. The goal was to replace the housing/frame.

Yes any repair order or anything else of the sort would help.....
It would seem a lot of dealers will not go this route at this time, which is ridiculous if ford is gonna authorize the repair and pay them. My own dealer stated he is awaiting a solid fix from ford and told me to keep checking back on it.
I've found more info on this board then they seem to have.
I'll be surprised if ford does put out a tsb to change out everyone's moonroof. I'm speculating they are hoping for a cheaper solution as The cost would be quite substantial company wide.

The technician working on the job said that the frame is the issue, they have replaced the frame on about 7-8 trucks so far and none have come back with any noise. If your dealer replaces either glass panel the noise will not be fixed. But due to the nature of my situation I won't be able to post my repair order for liability's sake.
Also, to remove the headliner they took off my truck's passenger door, front seats and console and everything went back together as new. It's like a brand new truck again.
