While maybe not "the end of the world" for me a 5.5 foot bed would be an issue. I've traveled to trade shows in my trucks for 30 years now. Part of the booth I take are 6 foot folding tables. Even when that need is over (retirement in the next year or so) I'll stick with the 6.5 for the canoe.

I shall enjoy my 5.5 foot bed even more now that I know how insecure it makes a small group of other guys feel lol
Personally, I don't care what bed length somebody else has for their truck. Why the hell would I care?

I had this same dilemma. But then I asked myself, "Why am I buying a truck vs a SUV.... For the truck bed." So, I wanted to maximize my space in the bed. 5.5 works great, but 6.5 gives slightly more room. I understand parking is slightly more complicated because of size and turning radius, but its a small price to pay for extra room. I park way out in the North 40 anyways.

You must have missed the part where I said they don't haul much.

If the short bed works for you, good for you.
