Long 6.5 ft vs Short 5.5 ft box

PS I wasn't saying the 5.5' couldn't haul a lot of stuff. But not much I was referring to the amount of times people are hauling. Then the guy that is supposedly disagreeing with me replies that he only misses it for the "1 or 2 times he hauls his bike in forever." That is kind of my point.
If the short bed works for you, good for you.

You can now get a supercab with the 8 foot bed in f150

His point was that the 5.5 foot bed hauls what he hauls just as well as the 6.5 foot, other than the one or two times he hauls his bike. And even then, it still works with the 5.5 foot bed, just uses an extender and the tailgate down.

Long, normal/medium, short.
Or normal/long, short, super-short
Either way, 6.5' isn't long, it's either normal or medium or short. 8' is long. That's a lot of bed.
Supercab and 6.5' goes well together. Still get the more agile (lol) wheelbase, and if you don't have family to ride in the back very often you are unlikely to miss cab space...a supercab with the rear seats folded up, even just the large side folded still allowing 3 passengers even with bucket seats...that's still quite a bit of totally weatherproof and HVAC controlled space. Plenty of room for dogs or your pile of steaks or whatever else.

Biggest pet peeve, is someone advertising a tonneau cover for a 2015 F150 long bed, or a short bed. No part numbers no nothing.......wtf is it? 5.5, 6.5 or 8? Money is on assuming it's a crew cab guy calling it between 5.5/6.5.

If using a tool box in the bed a 6.5 is a must.
It's amazing what just an extra foot does

I and many others are from a time when a 8 foot box was standard. A 6.5 foot box was a short box. And a 5.5 foot box hadn't even been imagined and would have been laughed at.
Buy what you want.
To me a 8 foot box is ideal, a 6.5 is acceptable, and a 5.5 is too much of a compromise. And I have had all three.

I grew up when the shortest bed you could get in a full size truck was about 6.5 feet. My Dad always said that short bed (6.5 feet) trucks were kinda useless and he always had an 8 foot bed on his trucks. This was in the pre-extended and pre-crew cab (half ton) days. At 61 years old, I've owned 6-8 trucks and they've all been either extend cab or crew cab and all have had a 6.5 foot bed. My last two have been 157"wb Ford Lariats. I don't see myself with one of the 5.5 foot bed trucks, though in a modern parking lot.......
Im not being serious about the 2wd because i could care less what anyone drives, im just messing around lol
Second best comment in here lol I get the whole motor debate but im baffled that guys are getting their panties in a wad because some guy they dont know and will never meet drives a 5.5ft truck
