If the short bed works for you, good for you.
you made the assumption i don't haul stuff.. my point was the only time i notice a difference with the 1 foot is closing the bed when i haul my bike .. not that my bike is the only thing i haul

You can now get a supercab with the 8 foot bed in f150

You are reading what you want to read, not what people are saying.

His point was that the 5.5 foot bed hauls what he hauls just as well as the 6.5 foot, other than the one or two times he hauls his bike. And even then, it still works with the 5.5 foot bed, just uses an extender and the tailgate down.

Semantics.

Long, normal/medium, short.

Or normal/long, short, super-short

Either way, 6.5' isn't long, it's either normal or medium or short. 8' is long. That's a lot of bed.

Supercab and 6.5' goes well together. Still get the more agile (lol) wheelbase, and if you don't have family to ride in the back very often you are unlikely to miss cab space...a supercab with the rear seats folded up, even just the large side folded still allowing 3 passengers even with bucket seats...that's still quite a bit of totally weatherproof and HVAC controlled space. Plenty of room for dogs or your pile of steaks or whatever else.

Biggest pet peeve, is someone advertising a tonneau cover for a 2015 F150 long bed, or a short bed. No part numbers no nothing.......wtf is it? 5.5, 6.5 or 8? Money is on assuming it's a crew cab guy calling it between 5.5/6.5.

If using a tool box in the bed a 6.5 is a must.
It's amazing what just an extra foot does

I and many others are from a time when a 8 foot box was standard. A 6.5 foot box was a short box. And a 5.5 foot box hadn't even been imagined and would have been laughed at.

Buy what you want.

To me a 8 foot box is ideal, a 6.5 is acceptable, and a 5.5 is too much of a compromise. And I have had all three.

Same here, i came from a 6.5 quad cab and was set on the 6.5 crew cab but after driving the 5.5 and 6.5 there was no way i wanted to DD a CC 6.5. Going on 2 years of the 5.5 and only once did i wish i had more space and that was on a camping trip when i offered to take the parents things too

No way to say for sure but i didnt settle on the 5.5 because there was no 6.5 on the lot, they had both and after driving both i went the 5.5

At 61 years old, I've owned 6-8 trucks and they've all been either extend cab or crew cab and all have had a 6.5 foot bed. My last two have been 157"wb Ford Lariats. I don't see myself with one of the 5.5 foot bed trucks, though in a modern parking lot.......
Same argument could be said about your 2wd truck being useless, i definitely dont see myself in one unless its in a mall parking lot....
Im not being serious about the 2wd because i could care less what anyone drives, im just messing around lol

Personally, I don't care what bed length somebody else has for their truck. Why the hell would I care?
Second best comment in here lol I get the whole motor debate but im baffled that guys are getting their panties in a wad because some guy they dont know and will never meet drives a 5.5ft truck

This right here. Anything bigger than 12’ and you need a trailer anyway.

i carry 12’ material all the time in my short box.
