I've been looking at getting an Optima yellow top Battery for the 2016. What model number should i be getting? I checked their site and no info is available for 15 and up..

The new Mexican made Optimas do not last like the old us made ones did.

I've headed the same. I bought my last truck used with dual blue tops and had it seven years before changing them, don't know how,old they were when I got it. I've heard people say 4-5 years is tops now. For the money they are it's not worth it.

The guy at AutoZone specifically advised me against the gold tops when I was replacing the battery in my '07 a few months back. He said they last just as long as house batteries now, if not less in some situations. Not as good of quality anymore...

OP, didn't you start a thread a couple days ago with this same question? As a lot have said already, I agree, the Optima is not as good now as they used to be. I was looking at them for my 04 F150 a few months ago and was told by Autozone that they seem to last about as long as the house battery as well. Good luck though, hope you find answers to your questions.

Optimas are junk, and Odyssey is headed the same direction. My current pick is the X2Power battery from BatteriesPlus, manufactured by Northstar here in the US. 4 year full warranty as well.

I had the Optima in my street Rod, it died and I tried to charge it with a portable charger and it wouldn't take. When I went to the local battery place they said that the Optimas are a gel battery and once they die there is no charging or bringing them back to life. A lot of money for crap in my opinion.

I just looked up that X2Power battery, https://www.batteriesplus.com/batter...um/sli94ragmdp
it says 60 months free replacement warranty, which is 5 years.
