Default Shorter Antenna

I'm sick of my antenna hitting the garage dooe frame every time I drive in the garage,,can I cut a couple inches off the antenna? I've found shorter antennas on Ebay, since I live in a rural area with poor reception I don't want to lower the reception on my antenna. Thanks for any suggestions.

Same issue here, and I tried replacing it with a short antenna, the wind noise it generated was too irritating, so back to the full length one I went.

You can cut the stock one with little to no loss of reception. Do a search and you'll see a lot more responses.

Stubby Antenna on Amazon. Reception is still good in my area.

This has some pretty good responses. You can also just search google and look at other forums. If you cut it and the reception is bad, you can probably find a replacement for cheap at a salvage yard.

I bought the 21" Shorty from AntennaX.com, but may not use it. It has basically no flex at all. I'm afraid that if I hit something with it that its going to damage the truck. If I can find a spring-loaded base of some kind to mount it in... I'll reconsider. The package even warns to remove before going through a carwash.

Love the clean look of the stubby antenna, but if you go that route, I would make sure it's easily returnable because of all the mixed reviews. I think it really depends on your area.

It might be a pain with the "super tough military grade" aluminum, or cost you $ with a radio shop depending on your skill, but I always thought power antennas made more sense than not.

I found this one on Ebay it's a 24" CB AM FM antenna, says it is the same or better reception than stock antenna.

Yup. No need to buy anything.
