I have a Samsung 10.1 tablet that is cellular, it's on Verizon.
I use it for navigation, Wayze and Google maps.
I know I can use my phone and Android Auto but it never fails, I will get a phone call right exactly at a critical moment when I need navigation, then I miss my turn. This way, with a separate device, I can talk on the phone and keep navigating.
I tied into the front passenger seat bolt. I work on machines in factories so I used something I am familiar with, Value Guide hardware. It is meant for guide rails on the sides of conveyors, but I used their hardware here. A bracket to the floor bolt, a 1/2" shaft going up to a tray that I made for my tablet. I also flip my Samsung S10 backwards in it's holster, then clip it in place next to the tablet. The whole thing is lower than the dash so it doesn't obstruct my vision. It might be ugly but it works for me. And it doesn't interfere with the passenger, too much.
If I park in a risky area I will throw the tablet into the center console. Out of sight out of mind.
