I am pretty sure I8iridium shows an acceptance screen on his sync2, post 215, this thread.

I have just now downloaded Ford's latest and greatest, sync2 3.10,
and will attempt install and further efforts this weekend.
thanks guys for keeping me going.

I installed Sync2 as well up from a 4". but mine was flashed by a dealer employee to match my truck. I have no issues at all. After reading all you post Neil it seems to me your Sync2 is the the problem. With what you have upgrading to Sync3 would be a lot less headache than weeks of hitting dead ends.

Just my 2 cents. Good Luck.

LOL...10-4 on the stubborn!

I haven't installed a TCU yet but I have followed this thread very closely. I don't think I should have too much trouble.

Delete all your saved vehicle profiles in ForScan and connect to it without pre loading anything.

So I just found a TCU and the wire that runs to the top was burned in a fire. I'm only going for Sync Connect and not the hotspot. Do I need that cable and antenna to be able to get the system to work or can I just make my programming changes and be good?

depends,
an 087 should have only one ant port, and yes, you want/need that cable and small ant(about the size of a deck of cards),
if it's a 229, well it's still yes for the cable and deck of cards, plus the 2nd port should throw trouble codes if it's cable and other ant is not there, and even if your not caring about hot spot,
(caveat, you might be able to program hotspot off, and this might preclude the trouble)
maybe you should let me check that tcu for you , , ,

The one I found only has the one port. I looked up the cable and antenna on Ford Parts and they're about $50 together, I'm just going to order them from there. Apparently the original were in a fire and the TCU made it out fine.
