Hmm, I hadn't seen that part - I guess I'll find out more when I try to see what happens. For some reason I always end up with the bastard in-between vehicles!

I have a 2016 XL with a 4D-Tech sync 3 kit. Running v.3. Do I need to get APIM numbers to verify what parts I need, or do I just look for what is listed at beginning of this thread?

especially that you're upgraded to sync3,
get those parts, installed,
and come back with questions if you need to.
you will need some forscan apim adjustments, noted in post 1.

I'm sorry to hear you spent that much on Sync 3. You don't need anything special. Just find a compatible TCU, plug in 4 wires, set a couple bits in ForScan and say lots of bad words when trying to get it to communicate for the first time.

I’ve done the same on my 13 F150 with the same result using the same part number TCU you have. I’ve also tried two other TCUs from newer model years with no luck. I’ve also tried every combination of AsBuilt there is (setting the TCU to different CGEA and C1MCA Settings), flashed different calibrations, and never get more than an activated TCU, as well.

When you tried those steps, was it hardwired to I-Can?

At the time sourcing the parts and not much free time, it’s what worked for me......

I have connected the TCU module to vehicle, and it appears in Forscan, i have also changed the setting in the APIM module to tell it there is a TCU. However in the sync info page its not showing the TCU ESN number also its not letting me add it through the app. But i know the APIM can communicate with it because if i unplug it i get a DTC error code saying its lost communication with the TCU module. and if its plugged back in the DTC code goes away.
TCU module number is: KT1T-14G087-EL
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.
