So, How can I downgrade the firmware? Will I be able to get the vin for activating the hotspot?
Obtain a software and device that can do the flash, find the appropriate files and perform the downgrade.
There is no how-to guide or step by step, you would need to (and should) research. Maybe one of the folks in this threat familiar with the process would be willing to do it for you for a cost, or walk you through it.
My TCU that came out of a 19 F-150 is JL3T-14G229-CM... so how a K TCU would end up in an 18 is beyond me...
I have to admit, ya'll were right. After contacting the seller again regarding the donor vehicle, he assured me it was from a 2018 F150. I then contacted AT&T, gave them the donor VIN as well as the IMEI on the TCU and they did not match. So since the firmware is not compatible and now that I do not have the correct VIN, I am back on the market for another TCU.
I purchased another TCU from eBay. It’s a JL3T-14G087-CF. It has both the connectors for ford pass and the hotspot even though it’s a 14G087 out of 2018 Escape. Any reasons why this wouldn’t work? I ran the VIN through AT&T and it is hotspot capable!

There could be a lot of reasons why it might not work. For starters it's from ebay. Is it from a flooded car or another VIN? who knows. Won't know until you try.

True. My main concern was it being a 14G087 instead of a 14G229 that has both farka connectors, does that throw up a red flag? I saw multiple posts stating only the 14G229 have both connectors. I will definitely keep y’all updated when it comes in.
