That looks very promising.... do you by any chance know which pins of the TCU are MS-CAN?

That's how I got my app to show oil life. Here's why I don't believe the oil life is tied to the modem. When I hit the "press to refresh" button on the FordPass "phone" app, it refreshes fuel level, vehicle location, and tire pressure, but not oil life. The oil life only updates after I have connected my iphone to my truck via USB. Sooooo, here's what I think you have to do to get the FordPass app to communicate with your vehicle concerning oil life:
Connect your phone to the truck via USB. If it's an iPhone, go to Settings on the Sync 3 screen and disable CarPlay. (Sorry, I don't have a clue about Android). While you are in Settings, go to Mobile Apps,

then FordPass,

then enable Vehicle Info (it's right below notifications).

I don't remember how long it took mine to populate the oil life, but it wasn't long. Probably one quick drive around the block with your phone connected to Sync, and it should update when the truck is turned off and you walk in to the house.
Hope this helps. It worked for me, YMMV.

Andrew

Mine updates without plugging in. I got home 12 hours ago and went to bed, you can see it updates 8 hours ago. It does not update on demand, something triggers but. Not sure if it is % left or when the truck enters sleep mode. Hard to say

Excellent many thanks again.

I have a spare MSCAN enable connector that goes to the GPMS module (DE8T-19H463-DC) that is redundant due to a Sync 2 > 3 upgrade, I dont suppose you/anyone has the pinout for that module? It is available for numerous vehicles.

Good example here:

EDIT: Found it, for anyone that is also interested:Pin 1 12v feed, pin 6 earth. Pins 2 and 3 medium speed canbus pin4 and pin5 not used.

Would anybody here be willing to PM me and let me ask a few completely dumb questions. I have a 2019 XL and for that trim level, Ford Connect is not an option. I have read the FORSCAN threads and this thread almost entirely and I don’t know the first thing about how to even start doing this. I’m willing to learn and will be very gracious. Unfortunately, you’ll get nothing really in return, other than the satisfaction of knowing you are way smarter than me.

No, *****, ya gotta read the 1st post(s),
then search this thread for 2019,
find a 2019 tcu( I think it is a K model, others will correct me), wire it in, add a antennae or 2, and as someone else put it, hack around with forscan till ya bleed, I mean, til it works

Fair enough. Kinda the answer I was expecting to be honest. I think even if somebody helped me, it would still be way over my head. You guys are awesome for the work you’ve put in. I may not understand how any of it works but I can damn sure respect it.
